Is Rogue One the final evidence that the Jedi vs Sith dynamic is the least interesting aspect of the mythos?Military war-porn is where it's at. More fleet battles and firefights, less anime duels between space-monks.

I didn't recognize any key elements from any of the forms. Just wild hacking and slashing.
I felt he was walking through molasses. Vader is slow as f*ck and now seems to have lost all sense of precision and technique that Anakin may have had at one point.

I think you're looking into it too much, he was just cutting down foot soldiers not dueling, and it seems like Disney doesn't really take the lightsaber forms into account anyways
Ultimately he failed because he was too slow against grunts mind you. Not his finest hour that's for damn sure.
Originally posted by Rebel95No ones training has been complete in the duel. Kylo clearly looked superior to Finn. Kylo looks a lot more skilled when comparing his duels in TFA to Vader's hack and slash of the nameless grunts.
I didn't say the rules change for him I said that it doesn't seem like Disney takes the forms into account, the lightsaber fights in TFA are proof of this too
First half of the movie was very meh, second half was great. The story was much better than TFA's. Second half was better than anything TFA had to offer.
However... as a whole, I honestly probably enjoyed TFA more. It felt more like Star Wars, there was just something missing from Rogue One for me.
Enjoyed the film a lot but it wasn't as good as I thought it would be.
Also, LOL @ CGI Tarkin.

Well the X-Wing battle in TFA kinda sucked IMO. But then the Millenium Falcon fight was pretty dope. So it all depends on Story and execution.
But I do agree there's no need to force a Lightsaber into the film, and agree it was refreshing to have a break from that in R1 and concentrate on awesome space battles instead.

Quan, I once regarded you as a troll and manipulator par excellence, but I can't help but notice you seem to be losing your touch. Your targets aren't likely to respond if literally all you do is stalk and bait them. They're just more likely to ignore you or put you ON ignore.
Ps. Guess what battlezone might begin today ??
Think Khan meeting up with the guy who needs a bacta bath to relax.
Rogue One was an excellent movie, and definitely top 3 out of all the 8 SW movies so far.
I do not believe Vader looked sloppy while killing the Rebel soldiers. If anything, he looked angry and desperate more than sloppy. Besides, it was an slaughter moment of epicness. One of the most exciting yet at the same time disturbing moments of the film.
Also, overall, SW movies aren't the best of films, but them being SW films makes them favorites. So, I have two rankings. The biased one where the fact that the movies are SW movies is taken into account [as well as the story, special effects, entertainment, etc], and the unbiased one, where I disregard the fact that they're SW movies and just analyze them in terms of pure cinematography.
My biased rankings so far [the ones that count in this forum tbh]:
Ep. I: 7
Ep. II: 6
Ep. III: 8
Rogue One: 9
Ep. IV: 8.5
Ep. V: 10
Ep. VI: 9
Ep. VII: 7.5
