So let me get this straight, Tarkin is lamer... because he died...
the only reason Hux didn't die was because the collapse of Starkiller base was a drawn out process, whereas the explosion of the Death Star was instantaneous. If the destruction of Starkiller base had been instantaneous like that of the Death Star, Hux would be dead at the end of TFA.
Originally posted by The_TempestI like a guy that frothes at the mouth right before he orders the annihilation of multiple planets. I also didn't find Tarkin to be intimidating at all.
Hux spewed and frothed a lot. Tarkin was colder, calmer, and much more intimidating. I generally find that much more appealing than a ranting fanatic.
Originally posted by EmperordmbNo, he is just less successful. Tarkin stole the Death Star he wasn't behind its completion nor did he even believe in it until he saw the demonstration. Tarkin wasn't aware of the Death Star and was oblivious. It's his fault for assuming the control of something he was ignorant on. Hux will froth on while Tarkin is annihilated.

Interesting.
You enjoy the subtlety in your Palpatine. I usually go for the more straight forward villains who can't be reasoned with. Everyone knew what Voldemort wanted and there was no one on the planet who could have convinced him otherwise. #awesome

That's a bit of a misinterpretation. Yeah, I love Sheev. I also like Tarkin, whose solution to problems is just to blow them up. I also despise Littlefinger and love Tywin Lannister, who is very matter-of-fact and pretty damn straightforward.
I like a range lol. A good villain is a good villain and they come in all stripes.
Originally posted by The_TempestI agree that exceptions can be made but I prefer the ones you can't reason with. A good contrast is found on the walking dead. Negan can be reasoned with but the Governor can't. To me the Governor is a much more enjoyable villain than Negan.

I didn't know you liked anyone save Sheev. My holy trinity is pretty well known of villainy.
