The Battle Bar, Our Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy

Did you pick up the letter from "de Aldersberg" in W3? A really cool callback to a surprisingly effective villain.

Good, screw those b@stards.

Nah I did not, but yeah, he was a great antagonist.

Damn straight. Iorveth is awesome, not as much of a bro as Roche but I'm pro-Vergen everytime. I felt pretty terrible at end when I
Spoiler:
chose Triss over him
, but I originally did the opposite and saw what happens and had to go lolnope and reload.

I played that part last september so I already knew Triss is gona make it to Witcher 3, I also f-ucking love Saskia so I chose to help her instead. Didn't regret it one bit.

Also, has anyone here played the first Witcher. 🙂

A bit. Started playing it, but it was so horrible that I stopped and decided to watch it on youtube instead to get over it faster...

But it was still so horrible that I stopped and decided to read a story review instead to get over it faster.

I feel like the game was just too open which made the pacing pretty bad and the villains were very weak.

The Crones were great tho.

Gameplay was shit, voice acting was shit, story up until then was meh, and no character (besides Geralt whom I still don't give a shit about) had more than 5min screentime.

Game was trash tier.

The game aged poorly, yeah, and is jarring to adapt to, especially the fighting mechanics. But once you get into it its pretty great tbh. And W1 Triss > new Triss imo. hmph

I like how Triss just blatantly took advantage of Geralt completely in W1+2 and no-one ever really acknowledges it.

Although who ever seriously chooses Shani? I mean come on, do you trust the powerful, experienced sorceress or a 20-something medic to look after a dangerously-unstable magical timebomb? Gee, such a tough choice.....

Well I finished chapter 1 and still couldn't bare to go on. Then watched chapter 2 and 3 on youtube and even that felt like a waste of time so I just read the rest on reddit.

Watched the cutscenes and stuff for Witcher 2, Letho was cool but Witcher 3 seemed a far more epic and cinematic experience.

Yeah and then Shani straight up disowns you lol.

maybe if were only talking offensive production. Kobe was one of the best defenders at his position for almost his entire career. The guy made the all NBA defensive team nine times and the second team 3 times. Harden isnt only not even one of the best defenders at his position, he's closer to one of the worst.

Hear me out. What I'm about to say, you may consider blasphemous or outright idiotic.

First of all, I have Kobe as 10th on my greatest players of all time list. I'm a Lakers fan and have immense respect for the Black Mamba. But what James Harden is doing right now is comparable, if not superior to, anything I've seen Kobe do in the regular season. Keep in mind the disclaimer: in the regular season.

First of all, Kobe is an overrated defender, and Harden is an underrated defender. Kobe, like Harden, would also have lapses on defense or take a night off in the regular season on that side of the ball. Many of his all-defensive first teams were garnered off of the reputation as a great defender he earned earlier in his career. I'd argue that Kobe at his peak could be an A defender at times, but most offensive-minded superstars don't put in effort on the defensive end every possession. And how can you blame him, or anyone? Fatigue is a factor in a fast-paced sport like basketball. Harden is an underrated defender because, unlike Kobe, Harden has had a bad defensive reputation for the past few years, and that reputation was deserved. However, this year Harden has made legitimate strides in his defense, and you really don't see any vines of him making hilarious mistakes on defense anymore. Kobe is a better defender than Harden, don't get me wrong, but the gap isn't as wide as you'd think, as far as the regular season is concerned. Heck Current Harden and Peak Kobe (which, in the regular season, is 05-06) have similar defensive statistics.

In terms of offense...now that's interesting. Allow me to present my case for 2016-2017 Harden being superior to 05-06 Kobe Bryant on the offensive side of the ball. In terms of scoring...that's Kobe's game. Kobe averaged 35.4 points on 45% shooting compared to Harden's 28.9 points on 44% shooting, (though Harden takes quite a few more threes than Kobe did). In terms of specific skills, I'd say Harden is better at baiting fouls and slightly better at shooting 3's than Kobe, (though Kobe was the ultimate streak3-point shooter). Kobe was a much more skilled post scorer, better midrange scorer, and more athletic. Kobe for sure gets the edge here. But scoring isn't all Harden can do...

Harden is averaging a hilariously absurd 11.3 assists per game right now. He is literally leading the NBA in assists. Not only is he scoring 29 points, he's dishing out anywhere between 10 and 15 assists a night. Harden has always been a much better facilitator and passer than Kobe was, and a lot of this was due to Kobe's unwillingness to pass. This is what makes Harden comparable to Kobe, imo.

SSB - I play, as well. My main is Link, my #2 is Cptn. Falcon and my #3 is Little Mac.

ME vs. DA - ME all the way. The story is imho significantly more entertaining, it's more fun to play and it's like ten thousands times more epic. Although, I agree DA is one of BioWare's finest trilogies, and I also enjoy playing through them. The story is also very rich and quite interesting.

And all those who shit on ME3 because of the ending or because of some mistakes here and there, you're all stupid fuggs. 🙂 ME3 was overall a fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable game, especially if you play it with all the DC.

I'm currently playing Witcher 2 but I'm not drawn to it, at least not yet.

So I reveal I beat Witcher 2 and Petrus the Quan fanboy rushes out and gets it. He wants to be ME.

You're delusional, Quan.

Anyway, so Witcher 2 is really that good?

Yeah, after a while. It was hard for me too to get into it. I stopped playing it for like half a year, but when I picked it up again and got to the good part I finished it in like 2 days.

Alright. I just started it, but it hasn't caught my attention at all. I guess I'll just keep playing until it gets better.

Will take a few hours. I only started liking it at the end of chapter 1 (out of 3 + prologue and epilogue).

play the 1st one Petrus. 🙂

You can tell the first one is good because it randomly becomes a detective story in Act 2 and its like, the best part of the game.

I also love how the villains motivations are

Spoiler:
things you told him earlier in the game.
A reveal on par with Kotor's imo.
