Oh those terrible Canadians giving basic human rights to trans people, f*cking marxists. 😂

The basic human right to be referred to by your chosen pronoun w/ threat of force. 😂
Violating a person's freedom of speech in this way is inexcusable but especially so since the senators in this hearing provided no proof this legislation would actually help transgendered people.

But yeah, our beloved right-wing politicians continue to be the ones actually taking away our freedom of expression and civil liberties.
The Senators supporting the bill in the senate hearing said knowingly using somebody's non-preferred pronoun or name constitutes hate speech, and their only counter was "well you could call them they/them, or by their accepted name instead of the pronoun you feel uncomfortable with, just not the pronoun they feel uncomfortable with or the name they dislike or else..."
They made no effort to deny this and in fact argued in favor of it.
None of what the Canadian Bar association said is in contradiction with what the Senators said though.
The Canadian Bar association argued it wouldn't be used to stop ideological discourse, and the Senators argued legally punishing someone for how they referred to somebody else (ie. names and pronouns) wasn't an infringement on the ideological conversation of gender or political discussion of transgendered rights, and the Candadian Bar association frequently argues no compelled speech will happen, which the Senators have defended arguing that since you can address a person in multiple acceptable ways aside from their unaccepted pronoun or name, such as their accepted pronouns, "they/them," or their name in place of their pronouns that it isn't compelled speech because there are options.
And there are rather vauge and flexible descriptions for what constitutes hate speech, such as "willfully promoting hatred against them" or "deeply-felt form of opprobrium" which the Senators have argued includes knowingly referring to somebody by the name or pronoun they dislike because "you are knowingly hurting them" or some such shit.
As shitty as the Senator's arguments in favor of this bill were, in their defense against the bill being used against those who use the wrong name or pronoun they didn't contradict the Bar Association's statements about the bill, and nobody in that entire conversation in fact denied the bill would be used in this manner.

Seems like this is going the wrong way rn tbh. There shouldn't be any legally trouble for using a Trans persons "dead-name" but there should be some assistance provided to trans folks to make the transition(no pun intended) smoother. Via paper work and such.
This kinda method seems kinda extreme imho
By assistance you mean like legally changing their name and stuff?

Yeah exactly.
There should be more education on the part of our schools in explaining Trans/gay people so they understand them better.
Why is their old name a "dead-name" why do they feel they're the opposite gender? Etc etc.
There are far more logical ways to go about it than jailing people.

Basically on college campuses a number of college professors try to spread a post-modernist ideology and culturally marxist agenda, which is where you get bullshit like sociology professors indoctrinating their students in the post-modernist idea of critical race theory (ie. all white people are inherently racist but it's impossible to be racist towards a white person), and particularly in the context of gender with shit like "gender is a social construct and it's disconnected from sex, and the gender binary is a tool of oppression and there's 70+ genders" type shit.
So basically I think people should be better educated on this and have no problem with them learning about LGBT stuff, but given the way some of these subjects are handled on college campuses I'm not sure the education system would teach facts rather than ideology if you catch my drift.
Sexual orientation I definitely think can be handled by the education system, gender is a bit sketchier given the ideological disputes between people as to the nature of gender and the linguistic disputes about pronouns and shit. If the education system simply explains what a transgendered person is and how gender dysphoria works and how some people are unfortunately conflicted about their gender identity and shit then I think that could be handled, but if the education system (like a presentation at my high school last year) starts spreading shit like "the idea that there are only two genders is oppressive" or "non-binary gender existing is fact!" or "use xe zir zhe etc." then that's where it starts to get sketchy for me.

I'm not opposed to that in principle, but when it comes to the actual practical application of education on these types of things I'd be lying if I said an observation of how these topics are dealt with by college professors makes me feel a bit of apprehension.Basically on college campuses a number of college professors try to spread a post-modernist ideology and culturally marxist agenda, which is where you get bullshit like sociology professors indoctrinating their students in the post-modernist idea of critical race theory (ie. all white people are inherently racist but it's impossible to be racist towards a white person), and particularly in the context of gender with shit like "gender is a social construct and it's disconnected from sex, and the gender binary is a tool of oppression and there's 70+ genders" type shit.

Your texts literally exhaust me Dmb.
I feel i can articulate myself better over voice chat but the effort involved is also equally exhausting
Ideally, they'd meet one, and that person would explain themselves like any other adult can.

There is no group ever more represented. I mean, I get it's a hate fact and all, but it's still a fact. Best accept it.
