You can call me Dinesh D'souza in a way 😉

Anyway, I can smell SJW BS in a film like the putrid body odor that eliminates from Quan after a long day at the country-club warehouse throwing around boxes long before it actually shows.

We will see how this turns out. I had no problem with Rogue One and only a few for TLJ's "diversity" characters.

would like everyone's thoughts on this, no trolling please

The problem is anything that has a woman/racial minority/LGBTQ in any relative place of power, it gets called out for being an SJW agenda. It's stupid and just shows fragile masculinity.

When the rebellion looks like they're sampled extras from a liberal arts class, we have a problem.

Why?

Holdo's non-military appearance was certainly intentional in order to get the audience to subconsciously distrust her but I wonder if perhaps it was too effective in triggering redpill rage.

At any rate, try googling Mon Mothma some time.

There's a difference between diversity that feels natural, ie. the Defenders on Netflix, the Matrix films, etc. and diversity that feels like obvious forced pandering, such as changing most of the iconic marvel characters into diversified form... or Kathleen Kennedy at a SW celebration panel using the phrase "strong female characters" so often if you did a drinking game to that phrase you'd die of alcohol poisoning...

Jyn Erso was in a position of power, but she got there through her own smarts and work ethic; not simply by having a vagina.

Holdo just seemingly appeared out of thin air, and given her incompetence with the unfolding First Order situation in the movie, it's difficult to believe that she inherited command out of some sort of redeeming quality as a military strategist than as a social butterfly.

I don't mind having female protagonists and diversity; I encourage it on a case-by-case basis. I detest having non-logical, non-analytical, immature minds in positions of power that typically require the inverse of those qualities (e.g Hux, Rey, Holdo) only for them to succeed. It comes off as being unrealistic and takes away from the movie (in b4 "WelL DuH, it'S StaR WaRS; oF coURse iT's unReAlisTic!"—that's not the point).

So it comes down to me having a preference for those types of minds, not a certain physical appearance. Now typically women tend to not fit that description due to their brains naturally being wired differently, and as a continuation of that, men tend to be more analytical and rational. There are plenty of studies to support this, and while it's not an end all, I have a legitimate reason to be sexist.

Anyone who feels the need to challenge my claims can step forward.

On a side note, Myth, I've been really enjoying Raven due to her expressing those aforementioned masculine qualities. She has had the high honor of being promoted to Dooku's confidante in my mind, which is no small feat 🙂 .

Poe literally says "Admiral Holdo? Battle of Exposition Admiral Holdo?" when she's introduced. She got her position due to military exploits, obviously. Besides, she was only in charge because the entire bridge command exploded.

And again:

"sTAr wARs iS BEcomInG tOO SjW!"

We don't know if Poe's exclamation was of approval or disapproval. For all we know she could've done something infamously stupid/reckless; similar to how General Krell was still in command despite having an infamous record for being incredibly wasteful/reckless with his resources (clones). But yes, she was basically the only one left on the bridge, so I wouldn't be surprised if her backstory is one of mediocrity and failure.

And I've always enjoyed Mon Mothma. She actually makes my top 10 strategists list. Again, she displays the qualities I've already mentioned.

Don't be a twit. Poe says it in surprise and then shrugs as if her appearance doesn't match what he'd pictured her as. The implication is that she's a famous hero and he didn't expect her to look like she does. Leia obviously thinks highly of her, as indicated in the movie. If she was incompetent she would not be in the chain of command or even still an admiral. We saw exactly how Leia reacts to such things with Poe. Her plan was also going to work without Poe's mess up and she saves the whole rebellion. Only an imbecile would think the film intended her to be incompetent.

In the movies Mon Mothma has less justifying her position than Holdo does, while looking extremely similar. Its retarded to hold such a double standard between the two. At any rate my point is that the Rebellion has always looked "like they're sampled extras from a liberal arts class"

Also I didn't read your whole post before so a belated **** you for the brains thing.

I wasn't following your disagreement but is Kurk stupid enough to imply she was incompetent ? This kid is drinking his own koolaid and believes he can spin this alternate reality into a Kurk fact. He's hopelessly lost in his own pride to realize his feelings don't matter only the facts do which he clearly doesn't grasp.

Obsessed with what? You? I will continue to throw shade until you yield to the fact that you're a grown man who lives with his parent(s), works a menial job, who greatly exaggerates what few assets you possess; but given that you're incredibly stubborn, dishonest with yourself, and above all, insecure, I'd imagine that won't be anytime soon.

BTW: I will have the opener out before midnight tomorrow. If I don't, you automatically win the debate.

I haven't rewatched the movie, so such small details are elusive to me. I am not claiming that what you said is incorrect, as all interpretations by definition are valid, but I would need to see the scene before opening my mouth.

What is certain is that her handling of the situation was not looked highly upon by a significant number of people on that ship.

Plenty of incompetent admirals have existed throughout the mythos. They didn't last very long though; just like Holdo by the end of the movie 🙂 .

There is no double standard between Holdo and Mothma. The latter has plenty of content in both legends and canon establishing her as an outstanding politician, negotiator, and head of state.

I'd be willing to discuss the neurological differences between men and women with you in a dedicated thread if you'd like. It's funny too, as it came out of the mouth of my snowflake liberal professor at a snowflake liberal school.

Nephthys still laying down the law in here. Good. Good.

I am amused by your inability to grasp you aren't accurate but continue to believe yourself to be. You are an arrogant social recluse who clings to his reading and self reflection because that's all you have in your life so it's predictable. One would think you'd work on your social skills because just like a hot woman who is dumb because she doesn't have to be smart to get what she wants in life due to her sex appeal you're on the opposite end of the spectrum. What she doesn't realize and what you don't is that a healthy balance of both sets of skills will make you happier than simply going all in one facet won't ever fill up the black hole inside you.

Hurry the **** up you know I'm not here as much over the weekend so you are pissing away three days on purpose. Skip school if you have to just get it the **** done, nerd. If you're another excuse maker like Ellimist who accepts debates to later claim I'm too sweet for you Quan to actually engage you I won't ever take you seriously again like him. I can't stand liars and people who say one thing and don't follow through.

Let's have the debate. Once you agree to do so don't look for a way out. Do not disappoint me.

Well I mean, Hux hasn't exactly shown anything promising these past 2 movies, that whole call scene with Poe just frankly destroyed any shred of redeem-ability on his character for me. It'll be hard pressed for me to take him seriously the next movie after all that.
