That's what it is for SW. Or at least for TIE pilots, since their fighters lack basically everything.
Of course, there's also the Inertial compensators too(which also falls under life support). So that is also there.

Nothing short of some sort of physics / conservation of momentum defying magitech would matter if your body is being accelerated at that rate - armor would be pointless because your body is still being accelerated.

Which it is, it's science fantasy, not realistic science. Generally real science cowers and curls up into a fetal position when trying to compare. Why SW has its own rules, why 40K has its own rules, so on and so forth.
