It's all well and good to punish after-the-fact, but what's the best way to deter it from happening?Threatening the girl with the same punishment as the rapist will only deter many victims from coming forward. So what's the best middle-ground?
There isn't a deterrant. There will always be psychos and perverts. Castrate the queers and then put them in the Coloseum. If they survive that, put them in a SAW type situation. Or reverse the two. Either way it should make for some interesting entertainment.

Wow, we need to take over Bernanke's role of the FED. You have any idea how much revenue we can bring in with these ideas? A lot of revenue=creation of jobs=somewhat of an economic recovery.
Originally posted by Dr McBeefingtonI know there's no absolute deterrent--that'd be weird. But something has to be in place to prevent phony victims from taking advantage of the brutal justice system. But simply making any abusers of the system subject to the same punishments would itself frighten off a lot of actual victims from coming forward.

This is why our system is the best, and at the same, an insult in some cases(Holocaust/Ft Hood Shooting). You get the good with the bad. I agree though there should be some alternative punishment if the criminals get away with a crime, but that would just jeopardize the sanctity of our judicial system
