So how does repealing a bill work? If say, this health bill passes, and the Dem's get creamed in the midterm elections, what has to happen to get the bill undone?

I'm pretty sure the Republicans have to have both the house and the senate, or the presidency to get it repealed. That doesn't even matter at this point. If it miraculously passes, I want to see the legal ramifications.

I read somewhere that Virginia is passing legislation to opt out, which technically should be illegal, which means it will probably end up in front of the SCOTUS. Which is conservative leaning at the moment.

Well, passed or not, I don't think it will make it far. The positive note is that I'm fairly confident the Democrats will lose both the house and the senate.

Thats because you're a stupid communist pig. Go to north korea if you love living like a commie and under a dictatorship.

Nebaris once again proving he has no social life.

I'm pretty certain its Ivalice and not Neb.

He's actually a lot more annoying than Neb. And not the "haha" annoying like Neb, the "how was this guy ever tolerable" annoying.

neb made you laugh, because he was so sincere. this guy is just trying to be annoying.

Rex, then don't. Make a few of us honorary mods that deal strictly with socks, and this won't happen 🙂

This guy is right up there with Peter Schiff and Ron Paul in regards to sound economic perspectives.

- Thomas Jefferson no longer included among writers influencing the nation’s intellectual origins. Jefferson, a deist who helped pioneer the legal theory of the separation of church and state, is not a model founder in the board’s judgment. Among the intellectual forerunners to be highlighted in Jefferson’s place: medieval Catholic philosopher St. Thomas Aquinas, Puritan theologian John Calvin and conservative British law scholar William Blackstone. Heavy emphasis is also to be placed on the founding fathers having been guided by strict Christian beliefs.

WTF is this? Even Thomas Jefferson isn't Right enough for Texas? They are giving one of the Founding Father's the shaft because he was a Deist?

Yea not really understanding where this shit came from. Regardless of his religious affiliation, the guy was a mother ****ing FOUNDING FATHER. This is crossing the line, even for me.

User Generated Content is the wave of the future.

The capacity of the human mind for creativity and success puts the lie to the idea that the internet is a morass (lol "ass"😉 of scum.

This story is a very good story, and I suggest that you read it.

NSFW @ ALL!!!

But it is still rockin awesome.

Spoiler:
all the links are to the same page, which is itself a path toward a kickass story about the (tech) SINGULARITY and its consequences. Total kickass.

Politics is the Mind-Killer

"People go funny in the head when talking about politics. The evolutionary reasons for this are so obvious as to be worth belaboring: In the ancestral environment, politics was a matter of life and death. And sex, and wealth, and allies, and reputation... When, today, you get into an argument about whether "we" ought to raise the minimum wage, you're executing adaptations for an ancestral environment where being on the wrong side of the argument could get you killed... Politics is an extension of war by other means. Arguments are soldiers. Once you know which side you're on, you must support all arguments of that side, and attack all arguments that appear to favor the enemy side; otherwise it's like stabbing your soldiers in the back - providing aid and comfort to the enemy." -- Eliezer Yudkowsky
