That last one is from the other side. I do like to look at both sides of issues.
You surely don't count on a news network from half a world away for your national news, though, do you?

No, for national news I mix it up between MSNBC, NYT, the local Seattle Times and Huffington Post. If I'm looking for a right wing view on an issue, I'll check out Drudgereport.

I would do CNN occasionally, if I were you. I don't know anything about the latter two there, but the former are biased, using many of the tactics in the cracked article i just linked.
Kind of why in Logic, my prof required us to take an NYT article each week and dissect it.

not a bad excercise.
It was a pain in the ass. In logic there is a specific way to diagram premises and you have to go line by line and find them, then put them into the correct diagram. This becomes even more difficult considering how journalists write their articles. Finding the premises and the resulting conclusion can take a few hours.
Then I had to go through and identify any fallacies, which gets even worse considering how journalists abuse language (specifically definitions) like a cheap whore.

I ignored this:because I saw no reason to comment on it. Everyone knows that his show is satire. I'd be surprised to meet (in conversation) a human being dense enough to take him at face value. Hell, even Bill O. realizes that Colbert isn't for realz.
No, you missed the point because Colbert is more conservative while Stewart is liberal, so I was covering my ass by being objective.

RRRRRRRRRRR? Where are the MSNBC articles he posted?
You can't click back a few pages? The most recent was the possibility of a third party and the statistics video.
You know, every time I talk with you two its like talking with my parents.
You'd like my parents DS, especially since you are a Jew. They would treat you like a king simply because you are Jewish.

This is an emotional rant based on absolutely nothing Veneficus. When you don't have a point, you resort to this kind of nonsense. And no, I can't click a few pages back. Why would you even ask me something so stupid, for if I could click a few pages back, I wouldn't be asking YOU, would I?
I could also ask you how I'm like your parents, but I doubt you'll give me an intelligible answer here.
We are like his parents though.
I talked to a guy the other day who hated his parents because they were always talking to him about being a christian, and they didn't accept his new-found religion (Budhism) He said they didn't really love him, because they couldn't accept him for who he was.
Then I pointed out to him, that although, HE didn't believe that Christianity was correct, THEY did, and they truly believed that if he wasn't a Christian, he was going to burn in hell. All they were doing by bringing it up over and over was trying to save him from something they truly believed was going to harm him.
Even if they are wrong, their actions, since they truly believed they were correct, definitly were actions of someone who cared about him.
How much easier would it be to drop it, and just be friends with him? They were intentionally putting their relationshipwith him, which they valued, at risk, because they were so concerned for his well-being.
He then did come to understand that their LOVE for him wasn't diminished, even if they didn't see things his way.
Interesting talk.
