'I've met God across his long walnut desk with his diplomas hanging on the wall behind him, and God asks me, 'Why?'
Why did you cause so much pain?
Didn't you realise that each of us is a sacred, unique snowflake of special unique specialness?
Can't I see how we're all just manifestations of love?
I look at God behind his desk, taking notes on a pad, but God's got this all wrong.
We are not special.
We are not crap or trash either.
We just are.
We just are, and what happens just happens.'
Fight Club is such a delightfully disturbed book. 😄
So the greatest show of our generation(and maybe ever), Law and Order had its season finale on Monday. They only announced a week ago that they were canceling the show. This, meanwhile shit like American Idol and the other nonsensical reality tv shows are still on the air. If this doesn't prove that American society has reached it's intellectual low point in a hundred years, I don't know what does.

Yes, let us go back to the good old 50's, when women knew their place was in the kitchen and those silly black people were kept to teh back of the bus. Clearly twas an age of enlightenment.
Oh yea. When we raised real men and not bitches, when this country was the greatest power in the history of mankind, when we possessed talented musicians, when everything wasn't considered "racist", "harrassment" or "bigotry", and when hitting your kids was ok and
didn't bring out the moronic and feminine left.
Funny how the only people spouting off the "enlightenment" nonsense are philosophy majors or insecure pseudointellectuals.

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or are actually serious.

No, I've just noticed it over my lifetime. Music has gotten progressively worse, with the increase of technology, intelligence is inversely related for the most part, people are becoming less social, tv shows are getting dumber and dumber, etc. Like I said, we hit our peak in the 50s, and it went downhill starting in the 60s. We were smarter than this new generation, the generation before was smarter than us, and so on.

Yeah, I know, it's just, what you were saying would have been perfect if you replaced Law and Order with Lost.
Except Law and Order is a good show, which is why it was on for 20 years. Lost was a hilarious piece of crap that made me question God's existence(albeit rarely).
