Smartest choice you've ever made, I think. Then again, you just entered a field where the best of the field don't have college degrees. That's the paradox of any field dealing with computer graphics or languages. You're bound to be a more successful programmer/designer learning the stuff on your own, rather than a class.

I suppose. I can also do all that including asp/net/mysql, etc, learned as hobbies throughout my adolescence. It depends on what you want to do I guess. But the best and most successful programmers I know are the ones without college degrees that increased their knowledge through their own study methods and trial and error.
