The Battle Bar, Our Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy

The Joker's taller, Landa's better looking, and both have better hair.

Spoiler:
Palpatine is good in Return of the Jedi, Sithisis, the Revenge of the Sith novelization (and select parts of the movie), and apparently Dark Rendezvous, which at some point I shall again attempt to read.

In all fairness, his character - and many aspects of the saga as a whole - would generally be considered spectacular were it not for the often mediocre handling and execution of said concepts. The failings can't simply be wished away.

Blax
If you go into non-movie spectrum, Dr. Doom shits all over Palpatine in terms of charisma, accomplishments, power... pretty much everything.

Dr. Doom owns an island; Palpatine owns a galaxy.

The failings aren't wished away: McGregor and McDiarmid's performances were consistently acclaimed by critics across the globe, cited by some to be the only redeeming features of the movies. Whatever Lucas failed in, he triumphed with Palpatine and his rise to power. The character was exceedingly well executed (with exception in admittedly hammy sections of Revenge of the Sith) and he managed to avoid being a Gary Stu.

Hans loses major cool points for his handling of the Idiot Ball in the last 5 minutes of the movie, but up till that he was about as cool as the Joker. And Doom rapes Palpatine so hard its not even funny.

Iago rapes all of them and then convinces them to murder their wives. Seriously you people need to read more Shakespeare.

Iago is awesome.

Alladin?

Othello.

You know? The play?

Written by the same dude that produced McBeth, King Lear, and Romeo and Juliet.

I watched the movie adaptation with Lawrence Fishbourne as Othello a couple years ago in School. Pretty funny stuff.

I generally dislike Shakespeare's works because the characters involved in them are dumbasses. Othello wasn't bad, but I despised Hamlet and Romeo and Juliet.

Johan Liebert is pretty damn high up there too.

Seriously.

It is my favorite Shakespearean play.

Edited, I never read McBeth. It was Hamlet that I was thinking of.

Krelian is the best villain of all time.

I don't know about you but that fat guys smile is scaring the pants off me.

The guy that's driven by the power of love to resurrect god.

You are obsessed with Xenogears.

I am. It's become unhealthy.

The Jojer loses major cool points for being utterly gay, but up till that he was about as cool as Hans. And Palpatine rapes Doom so hard its not even funny.

Are you implying Ham is bad?

Shadowloo and its leader would disagree with you.

Yeah, N's definitely right about ham: I dislike it. Alan Rickman's Sheriff of Nottingham was ridiculously hammy, as was McDiarmid in certain segments of Revenge of the Sith.

I don't handle the cackling very well from any villain.

You
