District 9 is probably the best sci-fi movie since the Matrix. I actually teared up at the end. Seriously amazing movie. It's unbelievable what the made out of the tiny budget the had.

Also i heart the Incredibles.

Serenity was brilliant but District 9 is still better just for the emotional punch it has. It only really has one or two actual deep emotional moments whereas D9 is pretty much like that throughout.

Star Wars has before the Matrix. Or at least the good ones were.

It's not exactly "Sci-Fi". More post-apocalyptic. And it's really good, but the best post-apocalyptic movie EVER would be The Road.

I guess I just didnt get an emotional punch from D9. I didn't feel too sorry for the guy. He was a bit of a douche bag, i was more concerned with the big picture, and they didn't show me enough of that to make me happy.

Aaaaaaaand there goes your ability to have an opinion as you clearly have no taste. Episode 3 was the best of the prequels but the cleanest shit is still shit. I could wipe my testicles with worthier things than what Lucas puked up and called a 'script'.

That was the point of the movie. The fact that this guy was a completely spineless, racist douchebag at the start and actually grew to the point where he lays down his life for the 'creatures' he so reviled. Hell, the start of the movie has him killing Prawn babies and laughing about it. But by the end he becomes a legitimate hero in his own right. Its called 'character development' and its a gooooood thing. ✅

Personally I liked the closer, more personal storytelling direction they took. But meh, to each their own.

I don't know about best sci fi movie but Inception was infinitely better than D9.
