Yeah thats it. In this universe Digimon actually exist just as they do in our universe: As a marketing franchise aimed at little kids. The trading cards, the video games, even the previous seasons exist in this form. The characters even reference events that happen in the series! The plot kicks off from there.
You should really watch it. It starts out slow and kinda crap just like Avatar, but by the end it is one of the most epic cartoons ever.

edit: I'm sticking with Adventures. I am in love with Angemon, and Meta Angemon (+ Angewoman) is the koolest. Also, METAL War Greymon ftw.
Jerry became such an emo when Leomon died. Adventures 1 is still the best of the bestest.

The victims aren't bullies, Renamon and Rika are the attackers. But it takes place in a parking garage. It's the first time that [fox digimon] decides to digivolve. It gets the full musical treatment and everything.
No, that happens when Dokugumon attacks Rika (the tamer) directly and Renamon (the fox digimon) jumps in the way, causing Rika to actually start to give a shit about her and leads to her first digivolution. Said scene occurs in a park.

Why do we automatically have to change the name of the jedi from twilight? I mean, it was stated he was a council member.. so you can't have 2 random jedi with the same name on the council....

It was also terrible play by Boston with all the turnovers. Rondo didn't even play in the 4th I believe. I doubt they would have won this series had he been healthy. Anyways, on to the bulls most likely.
