I can't believe you guys are complaining about too much Storm when Wolverine dominated the first 2 movies and only now has kind of went down a notch in screen time.

You'd think one be thankful that someone else besides Wolverine got more Screen time.

And compared to the first 2 movies Storm deserved some more Screen time.

You go Halle Berry.

is it comprehensible.....

That's true. Wasn't she saying that she wasn't doing this movie unless she got some more screentime or something? Storm is a great character I'm glad they gave her more screen time. I've heard a lot of people complaining that she didn't get enough screen time, and now that she does, everyone's saying she got too much.

Okay movie about 6 or 7. Two problems. The characters that they had barely developed n X2 were just barely more developed, and the new ones in x3 were even less developed.
Top Ten problems with this movie
10. Not enough Colossus
9. Too much Storm
8. Juggernaut not coming back in the movie after hitting a wall.
7. Not even a litle bit of Nightcrawler.
6. Not enough one on 1 fights. They should have had Colossus versus Juggernaut.
5.Bryan Singer didn't direct it.
4. Rattner shows that he and his writers have almost no knowledge about X-Men comic book history.
3. Make no mention of the fact that Juggernaut is Xaviers step brother, thefact that he is also not a mutant in the books kinda of annoyed but not as much.
2.Rattner directing it
1.Not eough depth of the plot
There are 6 people I blame for the ruining of this movie. Rattner for not knowing his X history, and because by leaving Superman, Singer decide to leave, which is why I blame Singer, FOX for not just waiting for Singer to finish Superman and instead rushed the project because they didnt want him to help, Marvel Comicsfor letting this sub par film by XMen standards get past them, and two a lesser extent Matthew Vaugn, who would have done a better job than Rattner but quit because of the shooting schedule, butbhe did make the briliant decision of Hiretng Gramer and Jonres. and Halle Berry for demanding more screen time.

Excellent post.

Halle sucked as storm (again) and got wayyyy to much time.

Not near enough Colossus.

Where was nightcrawler?

Angel's character was a waste of film.

They pissed all over juggy's character.

Wolverine getting near the phoenix (never mind killing her) was a fricken joke. (she could raise the oceans and wipe out everything else but she couldn't knock a 200 pound guy off his feet?)

X3

Positives??

Something I just never, ever get. WHY DON'T THEY USE PHOENIX FIRST BEFORE KILLING ALL THE OTHER MUTANTS!

No good points on X3 at all...?

I disagree. I think this is the best installment of the three and by far the best storyline.
I think that the running time was far too short and I agree that the new mutants were not given the screentime they deserved. In fact, it appeared almost "rushed" in places.
Personally, I didn't like the opening of the film, but that's only because I liked the "Xavier Monologue" in the first two films. That's me being picky LOL! The scenes themselves were beautifully done, Xavier and Magneto were convicing at being twenty years younger, and the young Warren scene showed us how Warren desperately wanted to please his father. I think Ben Foster pulled off the almost tragic character that is Angel, who's mutant power is difficult to hide.
I cannot understand for the life of me how you could say the bridge scene was unnecessary! Ok, Magneto can fly. So can Jean. Can the rest of the Brotherhood? Erm......no. Therefore the Bridge scene was essential for Magneto to get the Brotherhood to the "inacessable" island of Alcatraz. However, I must confess that I also noticed how it was daylight when the bridge landed at Alcatraz and then suddenly it was nightime!
The battles were NOT poor, the Pyro V Iceman fight was cool, Iceman "iced up" was cleverly done, and as for the end fight with Phoenix.....hello? She was downright terrifying! It was chilling.

A Yes!! I Agree!!!!!

I loved it. I agree that the introduction and the expansion of the new characters could have been better, but that didn't detract from the movie in my opinion.

My definition of a good movie is one that I am not expecting every move that is made. All to often that is the case nowdays. But this movie kept me in awe and guess alot of the time.

I would say that it was just as good or better than the first two.

i just saw it and i thought it was awsome only thing that really annoyed me was wolverine killing pheonix it just seemed .... stupid

can't believe my dad had so many questions after the movie. i understood more of it than he did. 😐

Now, everyone can see who the REAL and TRUE and FAITHFUL X-Men fans are. gambit2

Ebert and Roeper both gave X3 a Thumbs Up.

Ebert was also saying how in past reviews he was commenting on how he doesn't understand the obsession with Wolverine when Storm can alter the climate and do all of these amazing things and Wolverine just has those little claws.

Roeper was saying pretty much the same thing and how he's all for Storm/Halle Berry. He said, "All hands down Storm/Halle Berry".

So maybe the fact that Ebert and Roeper both gave X3 a Thumbs Up will convince people that this was actually a good movie and some are just being plain nit picky about every little things and not accepting this for what it is....A Movie......Not A Comic Book.

Also I saw somewhere else on this board about the boy in the first X-Men movie that made the fire ball that Bobby froze possibly being Johnny Storm and not Pyro because he didn't need a lighter to make a fireball and materialized the fire himself. Well I just watched X-Men tonight and he did use a lighter so I'm thinking it was probably Pyro.

Also people were wondering why Kelly Hu didn't return as Lady Deathstrike and maybe she did die.

Well if you've seen the commercials for the X-Men Game that just came out you'll see that they show Lady Deathstrike fighting Wolverine in some parts so that must mean that she actually didn't die since the Game is suppose to be about what happened between X2 and X3, so maybe she got cut from the movie and just put in the game to show what actually happened to her.

I don't think I'll be playing the game though.

Also they show them fighting a Sentinel in the game and people were wondering how they knew about Sentinels in X3 and fighting then in the Danger Room if they hadn't been introduced yet, well looks like they were introduced in the game so it seems the game will answer some of yalls questions after all that I've been seeing on this board.

And also for those that didn't know. The guy who played Nightcrawler wasn't sure if he'd come back anyway because of all the make up and stuff, so that may be why Nightcrawler isn't in the movie, but he is in the game as well so I'm sure they have some other reason in there to show why he's not in the movie if the actor really chose not to return.

In the game it shows Bobby using his signature Ice Sliding mobility but it seems in the movie he hasn't discovered that yet so that's something I've been wondering about.

Well I hope some of this stuff has been informal enough for some of you if not all.

EDIT: I've been reading and seeing the mention of Halle Berry threatening to leave if not given more screen time and I'd like to post part of a conversation with Halle Berry concerning that to help clarify it for some people:

"SHH!: So you basically told them that you wouldn't come back unless you got to do more in the movie?
Berry: That's what I threatened. (laughs) I really wasn't going to do that, but I thought that I somehow have to scare the sh*t out of them and get them to give Storm a point of view, so I really didn't say that to the studio; I just sort of threw that around thinking that it will get some attention. This is all I ever wanted. Not really more screen time, because I know it's an ensemble, but if Storm spoke for 5 minutes, then I wanted it to be 5 minutes that meant something. 5 minutes of character development; 5 minutes of a point of view and 5 minutes of some back story history, not just "Go get the plane" or "Come on kids, let's go". After three movies, I really wanted her lines to mean something."

"SHH!: Were you ever worried that they might get someone else to play Storm?
Berry: Yes, and I didn't like it. I would never not had come back. Honestly, I love the character and I love the franchise and my responsibility to come and see this character through. I just felt passionately that she needed to be stronger. Making an X-Men film is a big chunk of my year--I could have done two movies in the time it takes to do an X-Men film--so I struggled with this time in my career. I'm not getting any younger and do I want to give nine months out of my year to a movie that I do nothing in, and pass up two roles where I can really do something. It's those sorts of decisions that one has to start making for one's self, so I'm happy that I got to do more in this film."

Is It Comprehensible.....

nah i agree, X3 was totally crap for me, it was worse than the second one!

I was watching these interviews that the X-Men stars gave at Cannes, And Halle Berry's struck me s odd. She said that she asked for more screen time because fans were not happy that Storm was not being portrayed as she is in the comics. Okay follow that logic. If that happen, then other characters should have increased, too like Colossus who in the movie is made to seem like another dumb jock character eith his lack of diagolouge, and all the movie shows are three scenes withbhim in it, when in the comics he is more outspoken just in a quiet way, is very artistic, which Singer hinted too, but Rattner completely overlooked, takes many hits for theam and for the greater good, such as killing himself(though only temporarily) to rid the world of the legacy virus, yet this so many aspects are left out, I mean the only line he has in the movie is one word"No". So if your gonna make Storm more like the comics, do it with some other characters. The only two reasons I can think of why Rattner didn't icrease Colossus or any of the other minor characters is that there lesser characters, and Rattner didnt think that non X Men fans that saw the movie would know who they were, and the fact that he had to choose o either overly icrease Halle Berry's preciosus screen time, or increase the screen time of Daniel Cudmore, Ben Foster, Vinnie Jones, and the other lesser known actors. One might bring a better draw, the other would have made a better film. And by the way. Those people who say to let this mistakes slide becaus directors have created leeway. I agree they should but as much as Rattner took. With Singer he took leeway, but just enough, so that while the movie was his own it was still loyal to a big degree to the books, where as Rattner made it too much his own intrpatation, and was less then adequetely loyal to the books.

Well.. I didn't think that it sucked or anything..
But I was a little disapointed..
I missed Nightcrawler=/
Jean Gray was sooo scary in this one😛
Turned all green and stuff..
I'm glad about what happened to her..
I think that the movie was good.. Not as good as 1 and 2, but good..
Don't think that it could be in another way..
The things that should happen, happened..
I don't get it why everyone thinks it's so bad..

So is nobody here bothered that they totally and utterly butchered the beloved stories and mannerisms of your favourite comic characters since movie number 1?

No?

Ok, hands up who has been reading the comics for say, more than 5 years. Because I find it hard to believe that anyone who has read the X-Men comics during their prime would condone this piece of shit.

Don't get me wrong, if you like it that's entirely up to you, you're not wrong to like it, but I'm just curious here.

i think beast was perfectly done....
i still cant picture storm tho...she did get tougher but its not the storm that a can picture....
rogue should have more screen time, so should have warren and colossus.......
warren could have been fighting with the x-men at the end...
like when he suddenly popped up at the mansion...storm and beast could have been like "omg warren...what are you doing here..." and he be all like...."i thought you guys would need some help so i came". and then you see him in the line up with his original costume...that would have been bada$$....or maybe thats just me....

I think anyone could have come up with a better movie, to be honest.

Rogue is pathetic in the movies, always has been. She's some frail, whiney girl. In the comics she's a sultry, out-going and fiery adult female with powerful ability, albeit stolen. What remnants of her character were left? The white bit of hair and the ability to drain powers.

Magneto? Since when was one of the most powerful mutants on Earth a frail old man? I swear he was a middle aged buffed up warrior, oh he was.

Of course, if you went and enjoyed these movies, that's fine. To act like they are true or loyal to the comics, or even that they have good casting choices throughout, is just silly.

To be honest, I'm glad they didn't do a long Phoenix-Saga. I couldn't have sat through three or more movies of "FIGHT IT, JEAN!" "I CAN'T!".

It was bad enough in the comics.

^yeah...i agree that rogue wasnt her strong willed self....that was singers mystake..and ratner could have fixed it...

The biggest insults, IMO, were that, one, Jean didnt do anything except take up space until the "showdown" with Logan, and two, Beast didnt have any spectacular scenes. There was SO much potential gone to waste. I DID, however, like the fact that there were a lot more mutant cameos like Multiple Man, Psylocke, Callisto, Marrow, Angel, etc, even if some of them WERE cheap throwaway villains.

Why does that make it a good film?

"Look, here you can see some characters." It's like saying The Fast and the Furious is good because you like the cars. They're props, it's a shit movie.
