Ebert and Roeper both gave X3 a Thumbs Up.
Ebert was also saying how in past reviews he was commenting on how he doesn't understand the obsession with Wolverine when Storm can alter the climate and do all of these amazing things and Wolverine just has those little claws.
Roeper was saying pretty much the same thing and how he's all for Storm/Halle Berry. He said, "All hands down Storm/Halle Berry".
So maybe the fact that Ebert and Roeper both gave X3 a Thumbs Up will convince people that this was actually a good movie and some are just being plain nit picky about every little things and not accepting this for what it is....A Movie......Not A Comic Book.
Also I saw somewhere else on this board about the boy in the first X-Men movie that made the fire ball that Bobby froze possibly being Johnny Storm and not Pyro because he didn't need a lighter to make a fireball and materialized the fire himself. Well I just watched X-Men tonight and he did use a lighter so I'm thinking it was probably Pyro.
Also people were wondering why Kelly Hu didn't return as Lady Deathstrike and maybe she did die.
Well if you've seen the commercials for the X-Men Game that just came out you'll see that they show Lady Deathstrike fighting Wolverine in some parts so that must mean that she actually didn't die since the Game is suppose to be about what happened between X2 and X3, so maybe she got cut from the movie and just put in the game to show what actually happened to her.
I don't think I'll be playing the game though.
Also they show them fighting a Sentinel in the game and people were wondering how they knew about Sentinels in X3 and fighting then in the Danger Room if they hadn't been introduced yet, well looks like they were introduced in the game so it seems the game will answer some of yalls questions after all that I've been seeing on this board.
And also for those that didn't know. The guy who played Nightcrawler wasn't sure if he'd come back anyway because of all the make up and stuff, so that may be why Nightcrawler isn't in the movie, but he is in the game as well so I'm sure they have some other reason in there to show why he's not in the movie if the actor really chose not to return.
In the game it shows Bobby using his signature Ice Sliding mobility but it seems in the movie he hasn't discovered that yet so that's something I've been wondering about.
Well I hope some of this stuff has been informal enough for some of you if not all.
EDIT: I've been reading and seeing the mention of Halle Berry threatening to leave if not given more screen time and I'd like to post part of a conversation with Halle Berry concerning that to help clarify it for some people:
"SHH!: So you basically told them that you wouldn't come back unless you got to do more in the movie?
Berry: That's what I threatened. (laughs) I really wasn't going to do that, but I thought that I somehow have to scare the sh*t out of them and get them to give Storm a point of view, so I really didn't say that to the studio; I just sort of threw that around thinking that it will get some attention. This is all I ever wanted. Not really more screen time, because I know it's an ensemble, but if Storm spoke for 5 minutes, then I wanted it to be 5 minutes that meant something. 5 minutes of character development; 5 minutes of a point of view and 5 minutes of some back story history, not just "Go get the plane" or "Come on kids, let's go". After three movies, I really wanted her lines to mean something."
"SHH!: Were you ever worried that they might get someone else to play Storm?
Berry: Yes, and I didn't like it. I would never not had come back. Honestly, I love the character and I love the franchise and my responsibility to come and see this character through. I just felt passionately that she needed to be stronger. Making an X-Men film is a big chunk of my year--I could have done two movies in the time it takes to do an X-Men film--so I struggled with this time in my career. I'm not getting any younger and do I want to give nine months out of my year to a movie that I do nothing in, and pass up two roles where I can really do something. It's those sorts of decisions that one has to start making for one's self, so I'm happy that I got to do more in this film."
Is It Comprehensible.....
