Wonder Woman/ Juggernaut Part 9 "The Power of Gods Unleashed"
On the highest balcony on the top of the tallest tower in Castle Doom stands five dark figures surrounding an alter. Ulik, Cheetah, Kurse, Loki, and Ares are preparing to finish up the last bits of the fiendish plans to enslave the twins of the powerhouses Cain Marko, and Princess Diana.
Upon the alter the newborns have been placed. It is made of black stone with red markings of blood placed throughout.
"Loki this spell of yours had better work," exclaims the War God Ares.
"Do not whine or doubt my mystic prowess Olympian," retorts Loki. "I have even used my own magically gifted blood to inscribe the runes on this alter made of the darkest earth ever to be found. The spell will forever tie these two lovable brats to your soul, something I didn't even think you had."
Upon the horizon the sun can be seen lifting from the darkness, turning night into day. As the rays of the light begin to hit the blood decorated alter the crimson runes begin to glow. The higher the sun rises the more crisp and stronger the blood magic becomes.
"Ah yes Ares, see for yourself how effective my magic is," beams Loki as he raises his hands towards the heaven. "The sun, great light of the All-Father, and blood, the sacred bringer of life. Two of the most potent catalysts in all of magic."
Loki closes his eyes and begins the spells enchantment. His voice grows low, and ominous echoing throughout the castle as he commands the dark forces at his beckoning. Emerald energy begins to illuminate from his hands as a vortex of mystic power begins to encircle the alter as runes start to form on the foreheads of the children.
"YES! Soon they shall be min....." before Ares can finish his sentence a massive force is felt erupting from behind them. It is Wonder Woman and the Juggernaut, the parents of the two twins being drained of their free will. To say they are angry is an understatement of their powers. For when you possess the strength of the divine you do not get angry. Angry is for mortals who punch pillows. For they possess the power to crush mountains, and split the oceans, their anger can be no less then biblical.
Diana drops Cain unto the group of villains. His power is as boundless as his anger, and all that is directed at one goal keeping his children safe. He immediately punches Loki disrupting the spell. The trickster God feels the force of an atom bomb hit him hurdling him towards the cold, blackness of space. Cain doesn't stop his attack there as he brings his other fist up into Ulik knocking into Kurse causing them to fall over the balcony to the ground below.
Finally attempting to bring both hands down in a hammer fist on top of Cheetah. She moves but the force causes the ground under her to swell and move like a tidal wave as she is tossed into a wall.
Wonder Woman's anger is as boundless as Cain's but while his is all about focusing it towards a single goal, Diana's has a finer, more tactical sense to it, as she can use it to see not just one goal but all of them. She sees the real danger here and before Ares has time to recover from his shock she rockets into him causing Ares the dread lord to be laid low, being thrown to the fields below the castle. She continues her attack, throwing punch after punch not allowing Ares a chance to think. For every punch she lands a shock-wave causes the ground to quake and split apart.
She then removes her tiara from her head and sticks it into Ares' eyes to blind him.
"You will not be allowed to touch my children ever again Ares," bellows Diana. She lifts off the ground and flies straight into the damaged body of Ares driving him through the Earth as far she can go.
Back on the top of the balcony Cain is alone with the children he begins to head over to them, when a legion of Doombots begin coming out of every spot on the castle. Cain begins to swat them away like flies for none of them possess the power to harm him.
Their intention though isn't to hurt him. A few of the Doombots have been equipped with adamantium tipped blades that they begin to use to remove Cain's helmet from his head. They succeed when the last remnant holding it on becomes lose and is blasted off of Cain.
As Cain's helmet falls a pain enters his brain, causing his mind to become clouded as he falls to his knees. Kurse and Ulik who have walked back from the bottom each grab one of Cain's arms holding him back.
"You dared touch my person. I have flayed the flesh of mortals for far less than that," bellows Loki.
Just then an explosion of energy erupts from behind Loki heading towards causing the clouds themselves to swirl around it. The smoldering body of Wonder Woman lands on the balcony. Ares is not to far behind as he floats back up.
"I've had enough of this," growls Ares as he wipes the blood from around his newly formed eyes. "Loki finish the spell now before any other unforeseen events happen."
"With pleasure," replies Loki. He stands before the alter once more raising his hands towards the skies as his magical power once again surrounds them. The babies begin to cry loudly as the marks reform back on their head glowing more vibrantly then ever.
Ares walks and picks up Diana by the throat.
"It is over I have won, your children shall lead my armies, and this world shall be remade in my image," says Ares with a hint of pleasure in voice.
Wonder Woman looks behind Ares, and a small smile crosses her face, " I wouldn't be too certain about your victory."
At that moment a massive bolt of energy strikes at the force field surrounding Doom's castle. The thunder is loud and echoes throughout its halls. Ares looks behind him and looks out of the balcony, and sees a sight for sight.
An army of super beings have been gathered, from every facet of power and life, Thor and the Avengers, Superman and the Justice League. All the X-Men teams, mercenaries such as Deathstroke, and Wrecking Crew, and every imaginable combination of good guys and bad guys in between. At the head of this army riding in a jet with Batman is none other than Black Tom Cassidy you ran away to get as much help as he could.
Wonder Woman takes advantage of Ares' distraction and pulls out a blade from her armor stabbing Ares in the arm. This causes the god to let go of her, which she uses to toss him over into a wall.
Meanwhile Cain has been hearing the cries of his children despite the pain in his brain. This has allowed him to focus his anger again at the source of their pain. He begins to rise pushing past the grips of Kurse and Ulik tossing them aside. He reaches over and grabs Loki's arms. Then in one swift, violent motion he rips them right out of their sockets.
Diana grabs the children off the alter, "Quickly Cain we need to get inside."
Cain drops the arms unto the floor and follows his wife.
Ares walks over to the railings of the balcony pulling the knife out of his arm. Loki joins him as his arms reform like a mist. They are both brilliant minds and can process the current situation easily. They speak in a calm, collected tone that doesn't show how dire their current circumstances are.
"We can not win against these odds they are too much," speaks Loki.
Ares looks over the balcony, "They brought the Rhino."
"OK then we can not win against most of them."
A beam of energy shoots out of Ares' eyes as Loki says this.
"I missed."
"Yes you did, now I think it is time for us to leave."
"Not just yet," comes the voice of Doctor Doom. "Before you go remember the terms of our deal only stated I would lend you the resources at my disposal. It said nothing of whether your plan succeeded or not. I still expect you to hold up your end of the bargain."
"Very well Doom," speaks one of them as they vanish into thin air.
"Good," replies Doom as his eyes light up and numbers appear in them. This Doombot has activated the self destruct sequence for the fake castle. The castle's lights begin to turn red as a countdown is heard. Diana knows what is about to happen. She quickly braces the twins as tight to her as she can. Can wraps his arms around her and puts up his force field as the complex blows up around them.
In the after math the army of heroes stand around the crater.
"Wow Rhino I can not believe that out of everyone here you were the only one attacked, you must have some bad luck man," says John Stewart as he bandages up the Rhino.
Cain and Diana take their children home.
Batman is speaking to Diana, "Dr. Strange and Superman are standing first shift for the night. Flash and Quicksilver are patrolling the the outer area. Wolverine, and Slade Wilson are standing point at the doors. We will alternate shifts every hour for the next 24 hours."
"Thank you Bruce," she says as she walks back into the house finding Cain in the nursery.
"That was quite a day wasn't it," she says.
"Yes it was," he replies.
"Bruce says the house is pretty well defended if you want to head to bed."
"I think I'll just stand here for the night."
"I think I'll join you," says Diana as she walks over to him and puts her arm around his resting her head on his shoulder.

"And that is the story of how your Uncle Tom saved the day."
"UNCLE!" shout the twins, who are now approaching 5 years old, in defiance.
Black Tom let's out a smile, "Ok ok, that was the story of how you two brought the best and worst of this world together for one common goal. To save the lives of the sweetest most adorable children ever."
"That's better Uncle Tom," they speak in unison.
Cain looks on from his chair reading a paper with a smile on his face. Diana comes over and gives Cain a kiss as she finishes putting up the telephone.
"You know Cain," She says with a faint sound of amusement in her voice. "It's almost time for the twins to start school."

Part 10
EVERY X-MAN vs Apocalypse and the Sentinels
The X-jet travels at it's fastest, breakneck speed, towards New York, where the battle against Apocalypse and the Sentinels begins.
Xavier runs forward accompanied by almost all the X-men. In from Wakanda, Storm is the first to approach Apocalypse. Swooping in she sends a tornado into the Mutant's path, picking up cars and debris. The raging wind and debris hit Apocalypse who remains unfazed and replies with an energy blast, knocking Storm to the ground.
Psylocke, Nightcrawler and Rogue attack Apocalypse from different directions, but Apocalypse grabs Rogue and throws her into Psylocke. He attempts to hit Nightcrawler who constantly evades, teleporting around him and throwing punch after punch. Apocalypse morphs, sending spikes shooting out from his body and several hit Nightcrawler.
Meanwhile the Sentinels continue to step on innocent humans. A small girl is about to be disintegrated by and energy blast when Warpath jumps froward and grabs her, pulling her away. Pixie swoops in and rescues two civilians. Havok protects another by blasting a hole in a sentinels chest. Polaris and X-23 are sent flying by a single sentinel's swipe. Dust enters a Sentinels' mechanisms and flies free as the robot crashes to the ground. She flies into another and another.
The explosive charges set by Cable in the Berlin Sentinel headquarters explode and consequently the Sentinels are shut down as the central processing unit is destroyed. All over New York sentinels shut down. However underneath the rubble in the Berlin factory, Bastion stirs. He is above any programming and his scanners detect the highest level mutant threat in the form of Apocalypse in New York. He flies towards New York....
A telepathic attack from Xavier sends Apocalypse crying out in agony but it's not enough to take him down. As Xavier continues to hammer him telepathically, Iceman and Cannonball do so physically. Iceman forms giant ice fists and punches with a left and right hook and then hits Apocalypse with a double uppercut. Cannonball flies right into Apocalypse's back. Enraged from all the attacks, Apocalypse grabs Iceman by the wrists and swings him into Cannonball knocking Cannonball flying off over the horizon. Apocalypse turns his fists into a giant axe and is about to slice Xavier in two when Darwin leaps froward rolling Xavier and himself away.
Angel swoops in and punches Apocalypse, breaking his own hand.
"Hello again, Warren."
Apocalypse sends long tendrils from his body, ensnaring Angel. Dazzler blinds Apocalypse whilst Gambit throws several charged cards, blowing Angel free. Angered, Apocalypse claps his hands sending out a sonic boom that knocks Forge, X-23 and Pixie flying in several directions. Unfazed Apocalypse knocks down X-man after X-man. Standing amongst beaten and battered mutants who are struggling to get to their feet in time, Apocalypse grabs Xavier by the throat and lifts him off the ground, suffocating the mutant leader.
"Your peace corps are all but dead, Xavier. The strong shall cull the weak."
"NNN..Not if the remaining X-men have anything to say about it." Gasps Xavier.
The X-jet crashes at super speeds through the giant Sphinx's face, demolishing it's entire head. Skidding across the ground and cutting up massive chunks of times square, the jet eventually slows to a halt near to Apocalypse. The Astonishing team and Cable walk forward....
.....Apocalypse smiles...."Nathan Summers. Still think you are destined to kill me? Think again."

Part 11/Penultimate chapter
Apocalypse vs The Astonishing X-men and Cable and Magneto and Bastion
The X-jet crashes at super speeds through the giant Sphinx's face, demolishing it's entire head. Skidding across the ground and cutting up massive chunks of times square, the jet eventually slows to a halt near to Apocalypse. The Astonishing team and Cable walk forward....
.....Apocalypse smiles...."Nathan Summers. Still think you are destined to kill me? Think again."
Before Cable can respond, Cyclops has already sent out telepathic orders through Emma. Colossus throws Wolverine and Shadowcat who clings to Logan, right at Apocalypse. The two mutants phase through the villain and then from behind Apocalypse, Wolverine begins to shred Apocalypse's back with his claws. A super stretched arm from Apocalypse sends Logan flying into the side of the giant Sphinx. Nearby some more rubble falls from the top of the Sphinx revealing a large celestial machine that is slowly whirling to life. Shadowcat is distracted by the machine and Apocalypse throws her against a wall.
Cyclops unleashes a massive optic blast. Initially Apocalypse recoils but raising his hands over his face, Apocalypse blocks the optic blast and slowly walks towards Cyclops. Turning his hand into a giant hammer, Apocalypse is about to crush Scott when Colossus steps forward and pushes against the hammer blow. Colossus struggles against Apocalypse's assault and is aided by numerous telepathic attacks from Emma and Cable on En Sabah Nur. It requires their complete concentration to have any effect on Apocalypse.
In the remains of the X-jet, Magneto awakens from being telepathically subdued. He causes the metal jet around him to melt away like water.
Apocalypse sprouts wings from his back and grabbing Colossus, he flies high into the air, trading punches with the metal mutant.
"Hank!!! Get up there!!!" Scott shouts.
Beast leaps high into the air, swings off a flagpole, bounces off the side of a giant television screen, grasps hold of a window ledge and propels himself off it. He falls thirty feet before landing on Apocalypse's back as he flies past. Tearing into the claw marks Wolverine made, Beast deepens the wound, until Apocalypse flies straight down into the ground.
When the dust clears, Beast and Colossus are unconscious as Apocalypse rises from a crater in the middle of Times Square. He looks up at the remains of the Sphinx. The machine inside is at it's peak of energy consumption and energy tendrils shoot high into the sky.
All the way from the Berlin sentinel factory, travelling at mach speeds, Bastion enters the fray. His sensors detect the largest Mutant threat, Apocalypse and he unleashes deadly energy blasts. Apocalypse morphs his body into a bowl shape and the energy blast is literally bounced back at Bastion, hitting the robot and sending him flying into Emma Frost, knocking them both into the side of a car.
Cyclops attempts another blast but Apocalypse wraps his massive fist around Scott's face. Before he can cave in Cyclop's skull, Magneto sends the remains of the X-jet crashing down on Apocalypse who drops the unconscious Cyclops. Apocalypse bursts free of the wreckage and fires energy blasts at Magneto. Magneto attempts to block the blast by levitating large remains of the Sentinels. However a stray energy blast knocks him out.
Cable is the last mutant standing. He thrusts his spear into Apocalypse's chest but the mutant morphs his body creating a hole in his chest that dodges the spear. His chest then envelops the weapon and spits it out of his back. Apocalypse punches Cable high into the air. Cable lands on top of the strange machine, near to it's core. Apocalypse leaps up in front of Cable. Apocalypse punches Cable across the face again and again and again. The final punch, an uppercut causes Nathan to spit blood that falls into the machine.
"This machine, Nathan, only works in New York. It's because the city is a hotbed of superhuman and mutant activity and the machine feeds off the raw energies in the atmosphere."
"For what purpose?" Cable asks spitting blood.
Apocalypse stares up into the air, triumphantly, "It draws upon the very fabric of time itself. It can erase the past, and now through battling so many mutants and drawing upon your energies, history will bend to my will. I will erase my past defeats and bring about a new age, a golden age.
An age of Apocalypse."

Part 12/THE FINAL CHAPTER!!!!
Apocalypse vs ??????
Atop the remains of a gigantic sphinx statue in the middle of times square, nestled within a complex machine, Apocalypse continues to pummel Cable. Revealing that the machine draws upon mutant signatures in order to control time and space and that Apocalypse made a deal with Magneto involving the extermination of mankind, the villain's ultimate plan is finally complete.
"I needed Magneto to draw the X-men out. I convinced him it was about survival of the fittest. He believed it meant the destruction of man. However for me, survival of the fittest is anyone weak enough to rebel against me. This machine will erase the past and remold it into an age of Apocalypse."
Apocalypse punches Cable across the face. Cable spits out more a blood and it trickles into the machine. The blood turns the tendrils of energy erupting from the machine into various colours and a figure slowly begins to form, drawn from alternate times and alternate places. A person who was and could have been.....
Cable blocks Apocalypse's punch but Apocalypse turns his hand into a blade and cuts Cable's face. He punches Cable to the ground and raises his boot above the battered Mutant, ready to squish Cable's skull into the floor. Suddenly, down but not out Wolverine leaps forward, healing from his injuries and begins to hack at Apocalypse's face. He leaves several gashes but Apocalypse hits Wolverine with a backhanded swipe, knocking him into a nearby office block.
This temporary distraction gives Charles Xavier and Cyclops a moment where Cyclops, from down at ground level, looking up at the Sphinx is able to hammer Apocalypse with an optic blast. Apocalypse responds with his own energy blast, knocking Scott back into Xavier and Emma Frost, bowling them over.
Turning back to kill Cable, Apocalypse is distracted by the figure who has been plucked by the celestial machine from time and space. Floating a hundred feet above Apocalypse and Cable, the figures left eye lights up and glows bright yellow.
Nate Grey, also known as X-man is back.
Slowly being helped to his feet by Xavier and Emma, Cyclops is baffled.
"I....I don't understand. Nate is....dead." Scott mutters looking high up at the scene atop the sphinx.
Xavier responds. "Scott....the machine reaches into any dimension at any time. It reached for Nate because he and Cable are alternate versions of the same person and the machine recognised Cable's blood as Nate's, they have the same DNA. This could be Nate from any time or from any universe....."
"APOCALYPSE!!!!" X-man roars. "WHERE I CAME FROM YOU RULED AND KILLED WITH AN IRON FIST. YOUR END IS NOW!!!!"
X-man flies down towards Apocalypse at incredible speeds and tackling Apocalypse they crash into a parked car below. Both emerge from the wreckage. Apocalypse is the first to react with a punch but X-man block with a psychic shield. He then uses his telekinesis to send several nearby cars flying at Apocalypse from various directions. Apocalypse punches a few of them away but the rest knock him sideways into a building.
Apocalypse walks towards X-man and charges his hands ready for an energy blast. X-man charges his own hands. Both unleash incredibly powerful energy blasts from their hands until X-man's force overpowers Apocalypse who is knocked to the ground. Apocalypse turns his arms into giant swords and runs at X-man. Nate surrounds himself in telepathic armour and summoning an astral sword and shield duels with Apocalypse until he manages to block the villain and stab him through the chest causing Apocalypse grave injuries.
Apocalypse stumbles away clutching his chest. X-man's armour disappears and he unleashes a massive psychic bolt which hits Apocalypse and knocks him back through the Sphinx, destroying it and the machine. The various X-men and students scattered around cover themselves as a large cloud of dust envelops Times Square with the destruction of the Sphinx and the celestial machine. When the dust clears no sign of Apocalypse can be found.
Cyclops looks at Nate Grey, astonished by his son's presence. X-man looks back just as baffled....
"Dad, is that really you?"
The X-men regroup and detain Magneto. Bastion escaped in the confusion. Nate Grey is reintroduced to the X-men.
Epilogue 1: All the major news outlets record the events at times square. A mutant registration bill looks more likely than ever.....
Epilogue 2: Nate Grey is back with X-men. A new day has dawned for the X-man and the X-men.
Epilogue 3: On the streets of New York, a gravely injured Apocalypse stumbles through a dark alleyway weak and dying. Searching for a means of survival, Apocalypse is stopped by Bastion who descends from the sky. Bastion only has three word for the weakened and wounded Apocalypse; "DESTROY ALL MUTANTS" before he kills him.
THE END, FOR NOW....
