KKK: Are they really THAT bad?

I hate the fact that any a**hole can say what he wants, no matter who or how many he hurts, with no concern to how it affects others, and hide behind freedom of speech.

I mentioned that twice before, that the KKK is just an exercise in free speech, but even that doesn't matter, because what they believe is nothing more than an opinion. Regardless of how baseless and outlandish it may be. We don't have to agree with it, accept it, or even listen to it, but they can still express it.

We've experienced people's opinions time and time again, without a word being spoken. Oklahoma City, New York, you name it. The message has been sent.

I always wondered why everybody seemed/seems to pick on the jews. I never got that.

I don't think that's what people intended when they granted/desired freedom of speech. I think with freedom of speech comes responsibility. Indeed. That is a set back to a freedom of speach. Alongside of that, I loathe when people abuse that right, by saying stuff for the sake of being an idiot, under the 'freedom of speach'

Often when a right is abused it is taken away. Wish they could do the same in that case.

Yeah, I agree with you, I hate that people do that but I think the right as such, is important and I don't think you can draw a line just because it is racism...

You are joking right?

As Voltaire said: "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it"

Denying someone of an opinion is immoral. In that case, there would be no voting system, because people's beliefs wouldn't have to be taken into consideration for anything, leaving your own fate in someone elses hands. Opposition wouldn't exist, which means anything would be legal.

Great proposal. 👆

What about drawing a line based on stupidity?

But couldn't denying someone of expressing a stupid opinion be a good thing?

What about not?

And its a good thing you brought it up.

If the site wasn't thought provoking, or their general propaganda, the KKK would have died out long ago - but it hasn't. And I think this is the agenda worth discussing (in a respectful manner of course).

Taking a complitely different approach, like KKK are doing, will affect younger people - which is their main goal. They are not interested in converting old gits, but younger audience.

I think its important you made this thread - shame a lot of pages were wasted on ''you are a moron'' argument.

Thank you 😄

Thank you 😄

The KKK is still not an organisation you should in any way like.

..which is what makes an opinion an opinion. Subjectivity. What's dumb to some will come across as brilliant to others, and vice versa. You can't outlaw one and not the rest.

Asking, "Is the KKK really that bad," is like asking, "What about all the good things Hitler did?" 🙄

Yeah, but there are good things that Hitler did....

I had to at least ask.

I think the idea of the thread is more being vindicated then your naivete. Of course I may be wrong here, but that's how I saw it.

And have you researched any more about the KKK, or are you just taking their word for it?

It was Hitler who banned smoking on buses and trains. What did the KKK do? 😊

I don't like them. I was just curious. I'm probably the least racist person you'll ever meet.

Yes, this thread, your sig and your avatar go along way in supporting that.

Do black people love you?

Yeah, and I am happy you have the right to ask.

Well, I can see what you mean with the sig, but I thought the picture was really funny. My avatar is Lanky Kong from the game Donkey Kong 64 🤨
I have friends from pretty much every race.

I always thought it was a legitimate question, especially your second reply in the thread. There are, factually, a lot of common misperceptions that make the KKK out to be complete monsters. People don't easily let go of old stereotypes. There are still a lot of war veterans that share the same sentiments against those whom they fought, when the country, on the whole, has progressed. Some are just comfortable with their perception, so that they'll never be wrong

Well, the black guy is wearing a white shirt.
