Yes but blue is near to black it could be use as camouflage in the dark. Yeah its a crap power but it can be still used.

The post is not who is the most useless mutant but who has the most useless power. Beak could learn martial arts and use his beak as a weapon, still pretty useless but better than a power that kills you before you can reach puberty...so.....
