You can tell tons from a trailer...Once in a blue moon will a film surprise me reagarding my expectations out of the trailers.
For starters, this is Michael Bay, so...this film isn't gonna be The Terminator, or Star Wars, or The Matrix...it's gonna be mindless crap...
BUT...that trailer seems very promising...
This movie's gonna have freakin' giant robots, that freakin' transform into freakin' jet planes!!
If you're not expecting freakin' Lord of the Rings, then you're gonna leave the freakin' theatre with a freakin' grin on your face, 'cause you've just seen freakin' live action Optimus Prime and freakin' Megatron kick the crap out of eachother!!
Plus, w/ Speilberg in the mix, I don't think this will be the nauseating, short attention span, shallow garbage that was Armageddon...Guaranteed it will be a classier act than that.
It's beyond me how people think this is gonna suck!!

I know what you're saying, but my main point is...this is a live action movie of The Transformers! Great plot or not, it's gonna deliver the goods...give people what they pay to see.
...just that general dude in the trailer talking about the transmission or whatever already made me cringe...typical Michael Bay. Knowing who the director is lets me know not to expect too much in terms of great moviemaking...
Good Michael Bay: The 20 or so jaw dropping minutes of the attack in Pearl Harbour...IMHO, arguably one of the greatest effects sequences in the history of cinema.
Bad Michael Bay: The 120 or so brain-cell destryoing minutes during the rest of Pearl Harbour...probably some of the worst drama in the history of cinema.

as i said. ep3 had an awesome trailer. and it was frikin darth vader. the rise of the frikin empire. the fall of the frikin jedi. the story at that point practically wrote itself. there was no concievable way it could be anything less that awesome X infiniti. and from a cgi standpoint, it 'delivered the goods' and then some. yet i couldnt help but notice your screenname.
