Interesting...but Redemption is a bit dumb there. By messing with the gravity anomaly Supes creates around himself he could have prevented speedblitz...
Anyways, villains are created to find a way to lose way too often.

having no evidence to back up their claims in the face of real evidence. and using extrapolation and hyperbole.

That thread was what ultimately had me start the superman respect thread, and I wish I had edited the first post better and removed all mention of dbz...

Superman is definitely faster than light. He's proven himself to be such many times. In the Lex 2000 special, he flew from Earth to Saturn in 4 minutes (Light takes 19 minutes to make that trip). He's flown faster than light to escape a black hole. He's fought Wonder Woman to the sun and back (as well as fighting her on the Earth a lot) in only 1 minute and 54 seconds (light takes 8 minutes to travel from the sun to Earth). He's fought Darkseid to the sun in the span of time it took them to say a few sentences. In Countdown, he flew from Vega (26 light - years from Earth) to Earth in a matter of minutes. In Infinite Crisis, he flew from Earth to Rao (in the Andromeda galaxy, millions of light - years away) in a matter of hours. He flew across the solar system in a few minutes to save Kyle Rayner. There are many more feats confirming this.

Compare this to Super Buu 3 (the second - strongest canon character in all of DBZ), when Vegeta arrived back on Earth. Baba said it was "far off" from Buu's position (which could be as close as a few hundred kilometers). Goku teleported there, and Buu sensed him and flew at top speed after him. However, Goku and Vegeta were able to have an entire conversation (Goku convincing him to fuse with him) before Buu arrived. Only a short time later, Dende arrived at the spot while carrying Mr. Satan, so it couldn't have been that far.

Superman is dozens of orders of magnitude faster than any DBZ character.

Superman's heat vision travelling FTL seems less plausible, though.

Except he does have FTL combat speed. Otherwise how would he even be able to see Wonder Woman and Darkseid when he was flying them to the sun and attacking them?

I don't know how he's able to percept things on FTL speed, maybe he used other sences rather than his sight?

Or Desaad could be wrong about the whole bending space and time. It is just a theory he has isn't it?

The thing is that warping space around something via creating gravity anomaly is the only scientifically plausible way to go faster than light speed (without things like Speedforce or magic).

Russian science fiction writer S.Snegov has introdused the futuristic world in one of his novels where people invented spaceships capable on FTL flight by warping space around themselves, but didn't invent the means of FTL communication. So all the spaceflights then were "blind", based only on previously made astronavigation calculations. The theory about "warp" explanation of Superman's FTL movement has alvays reminded me of that novel.

There is very little plausible about Superman though. And if he bends space and time then wouldn't that mean he doesn't really have super speed?

That has nothing to do with the movement on ground or performing tasks like reading or painting the walls really fast, though. And Superman has shown pretty good combat speed and running speed...

There are multiple scans in his respect thread showing he has FTL senses.

And even his Heat Vision has travelled FTL on some occasions, AFAIK. By the way, that's another reason why he beats Goku (Goku has no protection against extreme heat, AFAIK).

Or extreme cold. Superman could easily as just freeze him as burn him.

So Goku doesn't live up to all that hype around him and set, game and match go to Supes. Monkeys, even alien, look much more better in zoo or in jungles then as objects of mass fanboyism.

Though Superman doesn't solo DBZverse at once- that's just plain stupid. But he beats Goku quite easily.

Well he could take out a portion of them just taking the fight to space though since not all of them can survive there.

Of course, human-level characters would be out of the fight really quickly, that's true.
