Roshi could vaporise the moon. Piccol did it with ease.. If he turn the attack he did on radiz on earth the earth would have been destroyed.

Goku was killed by a planet destroying blast.
Goku and Vegeta shat themselves when Kid Buu was going to destroy the planet. If they could have easily survived it then one of them would have just gotten in the way of the attack.

Goku was killed after using up all his energy in a self destruct move from cell.. it wasnt a planet destroying attack and you know it... It was all the power that cell had release at once.
