And you are sure you haven't quenched it? The devil can quote scripture as well, and it seems you have done little but quote scripture.

I will continue to do so. It is on this rock that I stand Regret.

It may be, but it appears that you want to stand there by yourself. You quote scripture and claim that the people you are speaking to do not have the ability to understand what you mean. That does not fit with my knowledge of Christ's teachings. IMO Christ helped people understand, that is not what you seem to be doing.

Did I claim that or the bible? Read more CLOSELY please.

"These things we speak also, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."

1 Corinthians 2:13-14

On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.

🙄

Because of it's accuracy. Have you read any books lately that spoke about Jesus hundreds of years before He came and fullfilled over 300 Prophesies about Him after the fact?

Accuracy?

Hmm, Im not sure I understand. Everything you know about Jesus, you have read from the book you claim is accurate.

Accurate compared to what other text?

If a person has writings that are proven by papyris analysis and historians and secular writers that these people existed and have been dated. We see in these writings over 300 prophesies that were written about a future event that hasn't happened yet. We also have documentation about Jesus existance by secular writers, historians and eyewitnesses. Than we have accuracy in the fulfillment of those prophesies. What other texts or writings hold that kind of reliabilty and credibilty lil bitchiness? The old testiment writings are used by the Smithsonian Institute because of thier Historical accuracy.

{Quote]Smithsonian Institute because of thier Historical accuracy.[/quote] Are you sure it's not because of it's religious value? They're accuracy of a religion?

Probably both. Many locations written about in the old testiment no longer exist of course but ruins have been found by digs and locations documented as they where already mentioned in the scriptures.

Many of the places and people in the bible are correct. Where people go wrong in understanding the bible, is not considering the context of the culture and the people of that time and place. They did not look at reality in the same way we do, so if we judge what they said by todays standard, we often go wrong.

I believe as well that the texts are simply reflections of the culture in which they were written, and that certain theists don’ t really have any consistent, coherent standards according to which they can judge certain passages as still applicable to them and others in our contemporary society.

True, they pick and choice their historical information, though there are some really cool sites that seem to support some history........like the burnt mountain of Mt. Sinai (sp).....and the crossing of the red sea, and the discovery of the "Ark of the Covenant"............

Its called historical fiction, real people and places, but fiction is used to fill in gaps in the history or to create side plots. In a hisotry as spacious as the biblical one...theres lots of room to fill.

Its a fascinating genre...I just finsihed Empire of Ashes about Alexander the Great.

Never read that...........the last book I've read was.............past the history or all that is and now intering into the present thinking and how it connects with science and the past knowledge that wasn't understood at the time...............

Well the last book had to do with Law..................lol...............not on topic.

An author by the name of Jennings has an excellent trilogy on the Aztecs... One novel at the conquest, one during the Mixton wars, and one during the rise of the mestizos.

Excellent reads...and in many ways no different thatn the Bible. They use real peoples and places, make profecies, but just don't claim a savior.

Wyatt has a site that has pics that would be convincing, but along with this sight and his books there are still critics...............cools pics though...Ron Wyatt, I think it is.

Was it historical fiction?
