True it contradicts so much X history, I sometimes feel that they should retcon the retcon and make the Phoenix Force a seperate Entity.
It's all a matter of whether Wonder Woman can break Jean's shields. They haven't been broken yet, and have blocked everything from electricity to radiation. People don't usually punch on them, but Supes couldn't do it in the past.
Jean has also gotten through Magneto and Juggernaut's helmets (something I don't think even Xavier has done), so perhaps she can get through to WW as well. If Diana can't get past the shield, she's not going to hurt Jean. If she's punching, I doubt that her bracelets will be in contact long enough to protect her, which provides enough of an opening for Ms. Grey to do any number of things.

Isn't WW immune to telepathy and doesn't using it on her give the user a backlash?
