So how come Dwayne McDuffie and all his African-American friends start the Milestone line for DC, making a virtually complete universe of black characters, and they don't get charged with reverse-racism like the person who started this thread?
(I worked with a black guy when BET was starting up - he considered the channel offensive for existing at all.)

African American
Dominican
Asian
European
Korean
and other minorities ive never even heard of. The whole point of milestone was to even things out.

Dwane McDuffie is a good writer, I would take him over Reggie Hudlin ANY day of the week.
Plus, if you ask me, the entire thought of a tv channel for a certain race is racist.

Im not sure really. The thing is I dont think you really understand what it feels like to be persecuted because of your race. Dont get me wrong I understand that you're not racist and things have improved but I have been subjected to alot of racist abuse on a daily basis for years, plus the history of what black people have been through as a whole doesnt help either.
I think that when a race has been subjected to alot of abuse that its not wrong for them to exclude themselves but with the intention of reintegration.
I dont think this implies to black people now, but lets put it this way if American Inidans decided to get together and exclude themselves I would not blame them. Eventhough im not an American Inidan I can undertsand how some of them could feel quite bitter and may want to work more within themselves to create a sense of pride.
I understand why you would consider it to be racist but sometimes even if you do not agree with something try to understand why people behave in a certain way. Try to imagine how it feels like to be somebody else.

Rather than just trying to seperate cultures we need to bring them together to get a better understanding of each other, thats the only way to end racism and prejudice.

I dont disagree with what you're are saying. All im saying is try to imagine how it feels to be another person. You dont know what it feels like so you cant understand why they do it. Its the same way when a person has had to deal with alot of abuse, sure he cannot hide from society all togther but that person may need some time to be on his own.
