Its nice to dream. However my problem with some of the responses on this thread is due to the sheer blindness of people. If a random member were to make a thread listinq their team based on whatever qualifications, 3/4 of the teams would be all white. Im not qonna say that those people are racists, but they are unaware/naive/unconscious or whatever to the fact that in the biq two companies minorities play a boqus role; enouqh to fill the quotas but not enouqh to be an uncomfortable presence. I defy you to list 30 minority characters that not you, but the casual comic book fan would know about. The reason you dont notice is because in that in a comic book world and in the real world, white is the normative, the status quo, and the only time you will notice race is when the characters are not white. just observations. mi opinion.

For example, without African Culture there would be no Jazz, without Jazz there would be no Rock, with Rock there would be no Rap or whatnot.
You cannot say that cultures are better off without combining with others.

3) A second extention of this is in regards to black culture. What you call the white status quo are achually things like:
-starting a family in the suburbs
-getting higher education
-political aspirations
-the desire to raise a family with stable parents and income
obviously this is a biased list, but why are these things to be avoided by blacks and other minorities. Wouldnt they be better served by working through the mainstream system to build power rather than just complaining about how they percieve the world as unfair and how people hundreds of years ago did something wrong to those who might have been their anscestors?
4) achually, i rarely have interest in the race of a character, black white or whatever. When I found out Jubilee was asian it was a suprise to me. Luke Cage (especially in his civil war appreances) is almost identical to me in philosophy, but im not of his race......
What it seems like to me is this: BLACKS and other minorities are the ones who primarily notice the race of characters, because, to them, race is of signifigant importance.

When you start to list all the super heroes you want in the Justice League, and exclude those who are white, asian, or latin, you're just being racist. It's the same as if I decided I didn't want John Stewart on the JLA because he was black.

In all fairness I was talking to other minorities about this issue who have expereinced persecution and some of them didn't feel to bad about it. Well I guess we are all different and react differently to different circumstances. However the fact of the matter is comics still dont reflect the real world. Even those arguing against me admit it.
