Borat

Yeah parts of the movie I did not know if I should have been laughing or should get up and leave...but none the less I enjoyed it!

Bland comedy, bland film altogether. I dont find ALI G funny nor did I find this crap fest funny either.

This thread is heavy with irony. Newest example: Some guy calls Borat bland whilst supporting the Saw movies.

Hehehehe.

You know, when I first saw the trailers for this movie, I thought it was going to be absolutely retarded... But after hearing all of the great reviews I just went into the theater ready to have a good time and it turns out that Borat was incredibly funny... in fact I thought some of the funniest parts were the Jewish jokes, mainly because Ali G is jewish himself!

Anyway, the only thing I didn't like about the movie was that I think that all of the scenes were staged... every single one. Even when he would walk up to people and just say "Hi my name is borat"... for some reason I really don't think people would say "Shut the **** up before I break your jaw" I seriously think that Ali G just took that general assumption that all New Yorker's are assholes and shot those parts. And I'm not just saying that because I live in NY (honestly I couldn't care less) And obviously, for all of the idiots that actually believe that the Pam Anderson scene was real.... I just have nothing to say to you....

Ali G is not the guy who plays Borat, Sasha Baron Cohen is. Ali G is one of Sasha's characters as well.

I loved the movie, but what bothers me is that magazines like TIME are inherent on informing the public that, "Hey, did you think Borat was funny? Well, guess what . . . the joke is on you!" I think most Americans know this movie exposes our hypocrisy and that's why it's funny . . . WE KNOW THIS. The Americans who don't get it and find it offensive are the ones that the movie exposes anyway. God I loved that movie.

You might not like hearing this, but...

You know that scene in Kill Bill, where she violently chops the limbs off of many people? Fake. No, seriously, it was. It was fake.

The Matrix? It doesn't exist! All studio trickery.

Schindler's list? There wasn't even a holocaust!

No need to apologise. Who would satirists be able to target if everyone had good taste and said sensible things?

The movie was pretty damn funny. Stupid as hell, but funny.

😂

I think he's funny on the small screen, as shorts on the Ali G show...
"I give woman the world, but if she cheat on me... I crush her!"
There was a large section on Australian news saying that his play on america is not going down too well and that his Australian tour was met with more than a few laughs, though Feminist groups are having an absolute field-day try to get him barred from the country...

I heard on the radio that the movie's getting sued by numerous different places. It was pretty obvious that people were going to take it really seriously and that they were going to get sued, but hell, what can I say?

brilliant movie, if you're offended by it, then you're probably one of the types of people this movie exposed, as Tired Hiker said. I can't believe it... the people who the movie portrays as assholes think it's one thing to look like an ass in front of Kazakhstan, but it's another to look like an ass in front of your own country... too bad they're doing that 24/7 anyway. I've seen this movie twice, and i hope to see it 100 more times

I've seen it 4 times and i might see it a 5th. Dont know why, i laugh everytime.

I read the stuff about getting sued is to do with extras complaining about poor pay or something along those lines.
