He died in New X-Men, and iirc in Days of Future Past a sentinel kills him. There are only two immortal mutants Selene and Apocalypse - the latter relying on technology. And they are only immortal in the sense that they don't age. They can still die.
Is this the crap about the drunk Nazi soldier saying they decapitated him.

What of Mr. Immortal?

And (perhaps) Darwin?

EDIT: Whoops, someone mentioned Mr. Immortal.

Anyways, most Omega-level mutants have the potential to be immortal, as they exist as pure energy. Wolverine, last I checked, couldn't exist as pure 'healing' energy.

Though I wouldn't be surprised to see it happening in upcoming issues.

The reason these issues suck is because I remember the old Wolverine. You know, the one where he relied on actual skills to let him survive. This one... well, he can run around and do whatever he wants, and not have to worry.

Thus, the comics have become redundant, boring, and all-around frustrating. 🙂

PIS, anybody?

I mean, c'mon... he was a fcking skeleton. How the hell is he supposed to regenerate from a friggen skeleton? 🤨

This is exactly why I hardly ever pick up Wolverine books.

Superman is another comic that I never look at because every other character jobs for him, just like Wolverine.

Agreed. I prefer my characters with a bit of realism. I liked Wolverine when he relied more and more on his skills, and less and less on his healing factor.

Don't get me wrong, it was awesome when he got pissed, went feral, took a barrage of bullets, and sliced the shooter in half.

But, when not feral, he was smart. He avoided damage, rather than soaking it. It was much more interesting - who wants to play a game on god mode? Who wants to watch a movie where the main character can't be hurt by any means what so ever? Who the hell wants to read a comic about someone who is only momentarily phased by having EVERY CELL ON HIS BODY VAPORIZED!

.....

Who?

seeing how wolverine has done a similar feat before im not really sure why ur so worked up. wait wait wait wait did u say that wolverine writters got rid of the last shred of realism? Your talking about a world were a guy can turn from 100 pound weakling in to THOUSAND pound monster. Your talking about unbelievable? The sentry is said to have the power of a million exploding suns. Flash can run multiable the speed of light. What wolverine did is not a big freaken deal and the only reason u are all making it a big deal is becuase it happens to be wolverine the most hated comic book character on the thread.

What similar things has he done to equate regenerating from basically nothing? The only time I can think of is when he did so with the assistance of magic.
