lol, i think we agree on most issue that you talked about. By no means am I a wolverine fan or am i trying to defend the writing in the book.
I just think there is a compleatly reasonable explination for it, ie PIS, nothing to get angry about. Sure, Wolverine has a lot of high end, and ridiculous healing feats, but most people who arent just rabid fanboys disregard them too.
As you said, marvel has sacrificed the quality of the wolverine character frequently just to hype it and make some extra cash
about all the not knowing art and stuff, thats just rhetoric, i try to be calously witty at times, dont take anything i say seriously 😛

I'm not overly defensive about the book, I'm erked by the fact that EVERYTIME wolverine does or has anything where he doesn't look like an ass people automatically try to destroy the credibility of the source.. no matter what it is..the facts are this.. marvel hyped weapon x as being the TRUE origin story behind the comics...
weapon x is HEAVILY detailed to directly correlate with the comics that were released, the book also ties up lose ends that the comics themselves left ambiguous...
and finally the kind of proof you're asking for doesn't even exist for comics much less a novel.. you're being ridiculous... you say i can't back up my claims.. i already did.. hell marvel did when they hyped the book, they recognized it as the true origin story.. if you don't WANT to believe that's fine, if you have a problem with the material in the book, whatever, but please don't insult my intelligence.. I'm not confused whatsoever.. it's obvious to me that you're the one who's having trouble grasping basic concepts here...
My point is, without proof, you can't say these things. Books are hardly ever considered canon within the comics.
I could say anything about it. Oh, didn't you know? Marvel said Weapon X the Novel isn't canon. It's actually self-contained in its own universe.
Without proof, though, my claims aren't valid, and neither are yours.
And yes, you are defensive. I asked an honest question, and when you couldn't back up your answer, you began bickering and insulting.
I'm done here.

but i can say these things cause marvel gave me all the proof I need when they hyped the book up... yeah books are hardly ever considered canon material.. but most books don't cover material that's already in comic book form... most books don't cover and tie up loose ends... most books aren't hyped up by their companies like this one... this one does/was, this one was recognized by marvel when it was produced.. i really don't know what else you want from this. seriously... you say you asked an honest question... unfair is more like it.. the proof you're asking for doesn't exist for comics much less one shots or novels... it's the reason why many one shots are easily dismissed and why series' like venom the ongoing title, marvel knights spiderman, and marvel knights wolverine were questionable as canon sources and remained that way for months.. thus far the book still stands as a reasonable source and you really can't do anything about it....
i already admitted to being defensive.. just not for the reasons you think.. as for bickering and insulting.. that began with you insulting my intelligence as I recall. yeah, you're done here all right...

Q&A talks about how much research went into the book and the process involved
no, this dosent prove anything 100%, it just does show a little more determination on the part of the author to get things right
Honestly, i havent read the whole thing, for lack of interest, hopefully it helps here, though im sure it'll just be flame material

Damn good post dissapear.
I was also a fan of the slightly above street level Wolverine who still had the ability to take on anyone, even though he'd lose. The thing with Wolverine that makes him such a heahache to use in vs. matches is that he has showings which more or less demonstrate the way he should be written, IMO, and other really high end feats that defy his described powers and are lapped up by his fanboys.
At least everyone here admits, for now, that #43 feat was crap
he wasn't technically in the sun. he was between mercury's orbit and the sun, if i recall, and it was the timely intervention of a newly-deceased-then-reborn phoenix which held him together long enough for his body to return from its emaciated state. it's entirely possible the phoenix gave his powers a little boost to get them going, too. so, yeah. not exactly "been there, done that," but relatively close.
speaking of suns, did anyone else notice how close sentry got in new avengers 20? he was about an arm's length away from the surface. sheesh...

yeah except that his argument is totally contingent on marvel neglecting the fact that they hyped the book as the true origin story.. so he owned me by ignoring simplistic facts according to you.. 🤨

Sentry is whole differnt subject altogether. Without getting too much into it, He has the power of a million exploding suns or some crap like that. If thats the case I dont see why he would be hurt by the sun.

Really "owning" on a forum is probably the most retarded thing I force myself to read. I have to say there were alot of good points you both presented that I did enjoy reading and feel all the better after the discussion.
