I needed to find Christ (and I am glad that I did). I know of many people who are glad they've found eternal life in Jesus Christ.

i do not know your reasons. i can say that you needed to find sum1 you knew would be truly sincere to you. you needed to find sum1 who could never betray you for petty reasons. you needed to find suthing that was permanent, eternal, and not transient and mortal. you needed to find sum1 to fall back on. you needed to find sum1 that would give you a purpose outside your own existance. you needed to find sum1 that would tell you what to do which was perfect instead of trying to face the possibility of determining and assigning meaning/significane and morals to things yourself and knowing that it had no reality outside your immediate perception. you needed to find sum1 you thought was completely sincere to you as an individual and loved you, your shoulder to cry on and constant support. you needed to find sum1 that told/granted you eternal life as you possibly could not handle{or as with most other things, had extremedifficulty if not impossibility in dealing with} mortality and the fact that your conciousness might not persist forever.

you found all these things in the christian god, as did all your friends. ironically, you only found it in your head. it is a false delusion. and there are better and more real and satisfying ways of fealing and knowing most of the basic things you desire{and do not necessariy get fulfilled at all, even if you tell yourself that you do } from god. only those ways are real, and the following emotions/realisations are not delusions, which are not really simulating the real thing at all. they are real, and infinitely better and more satisfying than the misguided delusions.

The Four Gospels' accounts of this most crucial event &e such a confused and contradictor mess that convincing any unbiased person to doubt it would be easy. We will see that the four accounts of the supposed Resurrection differ in nearly every detail.

When did the Resurrection happen? All four Gospels agree that the events described took place early on Sunday,' morning (Matt 28:1, Mk 16:1, Lk 24:1, Jn 20:1).

Who went to the tomb? Now the problems begin. Matthew says that the two Marys went to the tomb (Matt 28:1); Mark says that the two Marys and Salome went (Mk 16:1); Luke says that the two Marys, Joanna and some other women went (Lk 24:10); and John says that Mary went alone (Jn 20: 1).Christians claim that the Bible contains no mistakes but surely there are a few mistakes here. They claim that those who wrote the Gospels were inspired by God as they wrote, but apparently not inspired enough to be able to count properly.

Was there an earthquake? Matthew tells us that at that time there was a "great earthquake" (Matt 28:2), but why do the other three Gospels fail to mention it? Surely a great earthquake, especially occurring at such a significant moment, would be hard to forget. It is far more likely that Matthew just made up the story to add drama to his account, in other words he lied.

How many angels? Next, Matthew claims that an angel appeared before the two women, rolled back the stone door and sat upon it (Matt 28:2). He also says that the guards were so frightened that they fainted (Matt 28:4). Mark's story is quite different. He claims that the door had already been removed before the women arrived, so they went into the tomb and saw the angel inside (Mk 16:4-5). And he doesn't mention any guards. Luke's story is even more inventive. He claims that the women went into the tomb and saw not one but two angels (Lk 24:4). Obviously someone is not telling the truth. John claims that Mary went to the tomb alone, saw the tomb open, ran to get the other disciples and when they went into the tomb she waited outside. After everyone went home Mary waited, and as she did two angels appeared to her, and then Jesus appeared although she could not recognize him (Jn 20:12-14). And it is on this garbled 'evidence' that Christianity rests.

Whenever Christians want to convince us of the truth of their religion they will quote from the Bible, believing as they do, that every word in the Bible is literally true. But when we quote from the Bible to prove that their religion is primitive, silly or illogical (e.g. that smoke comes out God's nose and fire comes out of his mouth, Ps 18:7-8; or that donkeys can talk, Num 22:28) they will say: "That's symbolic, it is not meant to be taken literally." Christians are very selective in how they interpret the Bible. Some passages are 'God's word' and literally true and other parts, usually the embarrassing parts, are not meant to be taken literally. Either the Bible is God's infallible word or it is not, one cannot pick and choose. And if indeed some passages are meant to be taken literally and others are not, how do Christians decide? If the Stories about Balaam 's donkey talking, Adam and Eve eating the apple, or Moses turning his stick into a snake are not meant to be taken literally, perhaps too, the stories about Jesus' resurrection are only symbolic and not meant to be taken literally.

mahasattva, great job. Thank you for doing the hard work.

JIA based on what mahasattva has said, it sounds like the resurrection of Jesus is mythology to me.

Read all four gospels (i.e. Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) for yourself and you will discover the Truth.

I have read all of the bible, the OT and NT. It was that learning that started me on the journey away from Christianity.

Which in turn, lead you to the truth, making the statement of JesusIsAlive correct! 😆

I don't think god will ever pursue copyright infringement. He is like a large corporation, and he just doesn’t have any interest in us small time operators. 😆

OK, JIA you are a big fan of stories that say prove your point, well here is one that proves that Jesus doesn't love me. As I have said before when I was growing up I did believe there could be a God and prayed to him on occasion. My youth was troubled and got into lots of trouble with stealing and a very low self confidence which I didn't like myself. I didn't know what love was and didn't love myself so I couldn’t love anyone else. I prayed to God to help me and show me what love is and help me love myself and it only got worse. Then one day I got caught stealing from a store and my world came crashing down on me, I tried to kill myself and when I took the pills I prayed again and no answer and I still hated myself.

Luckily I didn't take enough pills to kill myself, more of a lack of understanding than anything. Though that day changed me, I realized that I'm responsible for my own happiness and self worth and that I can love myself and feel good about myself. With this revelation I started to change my life out of my own will, not with Jesus and it is the lack of Jesus that brought love into my life. I now can love my wife and my family and friends and return the care and love they have shown to me. If you say that Jesus is love than why when I believed in him I had no love and now that I don't I'm filled with it?

The fact that I am telling you that Jesus loves you (according to the Bible) and that He extends eternal life to you so that you can live with Him in Heaven forever is proof that God loves you. Have any of your friends come down from Heaven for you? Have any of your family members permitted themselves to be ridiculed, hated, spit on, tortured, mocked, misunderstood, disliked, lied on, plotted against, and crucified for your sins in the nude for all to see? Has anyone that you know of been buried in a tomb for three days and three nights and then come back to life? Has anyone close to you gone back to Heaven to prepare a place for you then arranged to come back and get you? Did any of your acquaintances die for the sins of the world (including yours)? Has any relative commissioned His followers to go out into all the world and invite them to receive eternal life so that you can live in Heaven with God (your Creator)? No? Besides, which god were you praying to? There are many false gods out there, but only one true God (i.e. Jesus Christ). If you want to contact the true God you must pray in Jesus Name (sincerely) and He will reach out to you in a way that is real to you.
