I believe the perceived contradictions occur due to the nature of Peejayd's belief. This belief is very dissimilar to your own and as such translation to your view is impossible without very lengthy explanation. Which I do not think would aid in your replies to his posts.

I tend to like Peejayd's posts. His responses are consistent in their form. Typically he responds with quotes followed by what I consider most times decent and succinct explanations of his view on their meaning. Also, he tends to respond mainly to posts from people that believe the Bible, while avoiding much response to others. Typically it seems he responds mainly to posts referring to Bible quotation in support.

I'm sorry, but you haven't been to heaven to affirm that it DOES exist. If someone asks you for proof of your argument, you dont use the same source and same information over and over, you find another piece of information that backs up either the point your making or the older information.

I can understand most of what he says, and his reasons for saying. I have less trouble with peejayd in terms of his beliefs and the way he expresses them then I do with JIA far more evangelical, brook no questions style.

However I see what Alliance is saying in his interpretation of JIA's post. Both JIA and peejayd are Christians, yet their interpretations of the bible don't always match up. JIA has avoided attacking peejayd's interpretations of the Bible by claiming not to be able to understand what he was saying - it would appear to be an effort not to risk his own claims of the Bible's being a literal truth revealed when one is "saved" as peejayd qualifies as this, yet still doesn't always conform to JIA's own claims.

A completely logical and likely explination about why JIA would attack peejayd's posting ABILITY and not the posts themselves is to make up the lame exuse that JIA provided, for the reason I provided.

Its fine if you attack christians who claim to be speaking gods word. Literal fighting literal is a good thing. But many chirstians don't take the bible literally, and many do not believe it to be the word of god.

To me, believing the bible is devine is absolutely and unfathomably rediculous to the highest degree's imaginable. There is no way to describe how rediculous it is. You might consider its context, but you still take it literally, no matter what. I could arbitrarily choose any book and make it the devine word. Its totally illogical.

Well, isn't God/Jesus a bit unfair in this matter? There are people, more every day, who can't "just believe." Not out of evil, but simply because it is not in their nature. Your religion demands sincerity. How can that be expected of people who have no proof? We could all pray and try our darnedest, but really, it is not in the nature or mankind to just believe with nothing to give reason for that belief.

It is all well and good to say "believe" but tell us *how* to do this.

There YOU go with your RATIONALIZATIONS again. Your rationalizations + God's will don't equal faith (that which PLEASES God), it equals DOUBT and UNBELIEF to put it mildly. Like Ushgarak told me in another place Imperial_Samura, "You don't get to make the rules...." Okay, I changed the wording a little bit, but that is the gist. Imperial_Samura, like I told you if YOU choose not to believe that is YOUR prerogative, press on. No one is FORCING you to believe, just carry on with your life. Like I said in another place, God's Word will bear itself out in the final analysis. I honestly don't know why YOU keep responding to my posts. You seem like a pretty level-headed person, but it appears that something won't let you let go of this. You insist on trying to rationalize EVERYTHING but when it comes to the things of God, you just can't. You either except the things of God by faith or you don't. Do you follow me? That really is all there is to it. I don't have any trouble NOT believing in Buddah, Confucious, Mormonism, Catholicism, Islam, Masonic beliefs and so on. I just press on. But you seem to keep trying to convince yourself of something. Like deep down you WANT to believe the Bible if you just had a little more evidence of something. Guess what you are never going to get it. Believe or don't believe. If you choose the latter (and you already have) then press on. 🙂

God does not need to lie therefore it does not limit him. Think about it that way. God by his nature wants us to no the truth so lying would contradict his nature. And I know that God is not contradictory (although people here think he is).

Anyone that truly wants to know if God exists can know but there is something that you must do first: you must--imperative necessity--humble yourself. This will probably eliminate 99 and 9/10 percent of those reading this thread. God will reveal Himself to you if you humble yourself before Him. Humility is not waiting for the chance to vent what you have to say at the first chance someone like me writes something like this. Humility starts with an attitude that concedes that you don't know it all or have all of the answers and that in God's eyes you are nothing. The simple fact of the matter is that God wants you all to know Him but it must be on His terms. You must humble yourself. Humble yourself before God, tell Him that you are sorry for your sins. Ask God to forgive you for all of your sins. Finally, ask Jesus Christ of Nazareth to save you, and wash away all of your sins in His precious blood. I know what I have written may not make sense to you right now, but you must take care of the sin issue. Your sins have separated you from God. Once you are born again the Holy Spirit will live in your spirit and He will began to reveal the Father to you. The Holy Spirit living on the inside of you--in the inner man/woman--will bear witness with your spirit that you are now--after your sins are washed away--a child of God and the Bible is true. The things of God will began to make sense to you once you are saved. I speak from experience. I did not alway understand the Bible or God. I would read the Bible as a youth but not know/understand what I was reading. I would even highlight the Scriptures (I still don't know why I did that). It was not until AFTER I got saved, after I did those things that I instructed you all to do that the things of God (i.e. God, the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the holy Bible) began to come together in my spirit (i.e., the real me), and soul (i.e., mind, will, emotions) and make sense (spiritual sense). I began to have an appetite for the Word of God. I would read the Word of God for hours every day until I read the entire Bible (I have done this more than once). I do not write for plaudits or praise of any kind from anyone. I want you all to know that I did not start out strong in the Word or in faith. I had to learn the Word of God consuming it like an infant. But I began to grow as I feasted daily on God's Word. It seemed like I couldn't get enough of the Word. If I was not reading the Word of God, then I was listening to it on the radio or watching it on tv. The point I am making is that I too doubted the veracity (truthfulness) of God's Word. Although I used to read it as a youth and highlight it, I was spiritually dead because of my sins. It was not until I got born again that the Word that I began that the pieces began to come together. Before I was saved I read a Scripture verse and think, "that doesn't make sense or why did God say that." I constantly asked many of the same questions that you all asked. I once told my friends that the Bible probably was written by a bunch of men who put hell in there as a scare tactic to coerce or scare people into believing it. But then one day I humbled myself before God. I admitted to God that I was a sinner. I did this against all human reason and logic. I went against the grain. I asked Jesus Christ of Nazareth--a Man whom I have never seen (He's actually more than just a mere Man. Jesus is God in human flesh---to wash away my sins in His precious, holy, sinless blood. To a person who is not saved it would seem that I had lost it. But afterwards I was a new creature in Christ Jesus. I NOW had the Spirit of Almighty God living on the inside of me bearing witness to my spirit that the Bible is no ordinary book. The Bible--the words--were given by inspiration of God (i.e. God-breathed). I did not perceive that until after my sins were washed away and the Holy Spirit moved on the inside of my spirit. I pray that my testimony inspires some of you to trust God and follow my example. It is worth more than anything that you could ever attain, achieve, acquire, or accomplish in this temporal life. You will be thanking God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit for eternity.

Recap:

1) Humble your self before God.
2) Ask God to forgive you for all of your sins, and then ask Jesus Chrst of Nazareth to save you from your sins.
3)Pick up Bible and read the Gospel According to John (this gospel account emphasizes the deity of Christ Jesus.
4)Pray to God the Father in the Name of Jesus daily

Prayer is simply communicating or talking to God. You don't have to use thees and thous. God doesn't talk that way. Trust me God the Father is waiting to hear from you. He eagerly wants to manifest Himself to you.

I know that the enemy--satan aka. the devil--is going to attack this thread and its contents viciously because he is the one keeping you blind from the truth. I have no enemies on this forum but folks satan works through people. Just as God is working through me to share this with you know for certain that the devil has his people waiting for a chance to oppose everything that I have written. But God's will will prevail.
