But if they do replace her with Maggie Gyllenhaal it would be okay, I'd still enjoy watching Rachael die, just would have been even more enjoyable if she were played by Holmes.

Haha. I actually would have more fun watching Gyllenhaal die, cause I think she's less attractive (is it just me or does she not look like a rat?) but either way, I'd like to see Rachel get a huuuuuge grin on her face, if you catch my drift.

I think they should stick a bit more to the comic origin for the joker than a lot of sources have in the past. through flashback, I want him to be just a real innocent guy trying to take care of his family only to be lured into a crime and to have his wife murdered, just you know, the most horrible possible day anyone could ever have. and to top it off, i want batman to be directly and personally responsible for disfiguring him. I think the DCAU hinted at this in a way but i want batman to just unjustly lose it and to shove him right into the acid. This would add more depth to joker's character, more sympathy and at the same time bring back this young batman to his original early golden age incarnation as essentially the punisher with a cape.

Pick up Batman: The Killing Joke. It has been said that Chris Nolan is basing Heath Ledgers Joker off of that.

that's what i'm referencing

Maggie Gyllenhaal has finally signed on.

is Shia Lebouef coming in as Robin? jk

I have the killing Joke. Its definately a good representation of the Joker. As much as I loved the Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller, The joker never laughed in there. Or smiled. (Except in one scene) He was way too serious. Evil, but too serious. The killing Joke is the best representation of the Joker in my opinion. He's a perfect combination of A Sadistic Monster, and a madman who enjoys a good laugh. But what makes a Monster laugh?...Monsterous things. If Nolan sticks to the formula, The joker will be a dark character. And It'll be a great movie.
If you look at the Joker as a comedian, then Ledger is a horrible choice. But if you look at the Joker as a sadistic bastard (Who loves a good laugh) Then Ledger will do just fine.

HAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA I have never heard of anything so funny. Nor have I heard of Robin being in the sequel.

Alan Dale might be in TDK.

What do you thinks think his role is? Sal Maroni?

I thought that, but then Alan Dales' role is supposeed to be small. Although James Gandolfini would be perfect for Salvatore Maroni. Would you agree on that?

I'd love to see Gandolfini for Maroni.

As for Dale, there's like a 50/50 thing going on. I keep hearing that his role is small but he's a significant character that deals famously with Dent...so that's contradictory. I doubt they would make Dale someone like Sionis or Zucco (especially without Grayson)...don't think they'd cast him as Thorne, either...hm....

You know something, you're right. It doesn't make sense that Alan Dale's character is going to be small. I have been thinking that Dale's character is in fact not small, as has been claimed, but in fact the character of Sal Maroni. I think Chris Nolan or someone close put that out there about his possible character being small when in fact, he is portrying mobster Salvatore Maroni.

Is that thanks to your "insider information" on the set of every Goddam film in existence? Wait... did I just blow your cover? 🙄

I read a lot of things, whether it be online or elsewhere. Since I live in Los Angeles, Ca, I am privy to a lot of stuff. I do know people who work for movie studies.

No Black Mask or Penguin in TDK.

I don't think that will happen. Even though it is a minor role its still a type of character that Gandolfini has tried to shake off for years... even the producers of the Sopranos had to offer him a really big paycheck to do the last series.

It would be just glaringly obvious to everyone that its Tony Soprano in that witness stand and not Maroni.

Nolan should just do the same as he did with Falcone and bring in some fresh faces in these kind of roles.

Agreed. If Gandolfini wasn't already typecast as Soprano, he'd be great though. Plus the problem is that Maroni wouldn't look too different, so they couldn't even change him enough that people wouldn't notice at first, you know?

Does anyone know whos going to be Joker yet?
