Lincolnshire, though fairly near Cambridgeshire. The nearest city is Peterborough.

Cool, I will move to Guildford in Surrey in a months. I'll probably keep my home comic book dealer though, they order ongoing series and trade's from the US directly at quite fair rates.

Are you outside the USA? I live in England, and I found it pretty hellish finding a comic shop. I did find some online Comic Shop Locator and it found me a place, even though it was six years out of date or something. I have to take a 25 minute train journey to get to the local comic shop, the prices are extortianate (how did they work out that $2.99=£2.50?) and it gets its stuff sooo late. It's a pain in the arse, so I just go every month and a half to three months and spend £30-£50, but when I read the stuff, it generally feels worth it, somehow...
Also, I limit costs by getting any graphic novels/ trade paperbacks from Amazon, often via used and new. That way, I pay from £5 to £10 rather than about £10- £30 for each. 😉

I live in Detroit, and I'll probably check online when I get the chance to see if I can find a store, I'm too busy now though.

I grew up in Surrey. Can't say you have a great chance of finding a comic shop around there, so yeah, you're best of ordering from the USA. 🙂 It's a pretty nice area of the World, though.
And Da Joker, try Forbidden Planet Online. That's pretty good, I believe.

I know a few in London, so it shouldn't be too problematic to get some things, when the mood strikes.

Yeah, London's pretty good. Problem is, it's also 100 miles away. I'm going up to Carlisle to see some family soon, and that's got an awesome comic shop though (friendly staff! And it's actually... organised!) so I'll be sure to spend a load there.
I just don't see how no one in England seems to read comics and people who do (and admit to doing so) are treated as very, very sad nerds (admittedly, that I am) yet people still flock to see films like the Dark Knight.
Hypocrisy much?

Is kinda odd, especially cause the best comic writers come from there.

Grant Morrison... Alan Moore. Plenty of others, too. We English are pretty damn good. 😉 I think Morrison's technically Scottish, but we all know Scotland's not a real country, right? 😉

Yeah, some really great stuff. Garth Ennis, Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore, Jamie Delano, Warren Ellis, Grant Morrison, Andy Diggle, Mike Cary, etc.

Ah, forgot Gaiman. Didn't realise Ennis and Ellis were both English. That's awesome!

Ennis is Irish, but that, also, is basically England.

I expect it was full of wit to the level of:
"Why so vagina?" or "Let's put a vagina on that face", which, on second thoughts, would be pretty funny.

depending on them showing it, it would lure more males to the movie 😉

As did I. But the Joker has no "origin". The best thing about the Dark Knight was the Joker's multiple explanations for his scarring...
