Read Batman: Year One. His first wife was called Barbara and they had a son called James. I'm pretty sure Barbara Gordon was adopted actually. She was Gordon's brother's kid or something (so Gordon's niece).
So Nolan got it right. Technically, he shouldn't have a daughter and James would be a bit younger before he and Barbara divorced, but it's no big deal.
Gordon eventually got divorced from his first wife and named his second daughter with his second wife after Barbara.

No, Barbara is indeed his niece, not his daughter, though there was a storyline that hinted that she might be his actual daughter (sorry I don't remember the outcome already), she was raised by Jim's brother and sister in law. He did adopt her though.
And what second wife do you refer to? Sarah Essen?

That post I made was of an actual storyline. I'm not saying that's what they're doing for this franchise, but it was indeed a storyline. I think it'd just be better to make her his real daughter. What do you think Nolan should do?
What storyline? It wasn't the storyline of the comics, if that's what you mean.
And I think he should leave out Batgirl and Robin.
That's what I read..that it was.
I'm not saying he should introduce them, but if someone like Bruce happened to ask Jim about them. In any case, let Batman remain a lone soldier for this franchise.
I've been thinking lately and I think the Riddler along with another villain would be perfect for the third movie. Nolan's already made up for the crapfest that was Tommy Lee Jones' Two-Face, so all he has to do is redeem the Riddler and we will have one hell of a three movie franchise. I'd love to see something sinister with sadistic riddles. Everytime someone solves a riddle, he comes up with something even worse.

But at the moment I would tell them to make Talia Al Ghul head of the league of shadows, while Bane would be an enforcer and maybe personal guard of Talia (you could even make a love storyline between them). On top of that I might have the Riddler in it as private investigator with some insane tendencies. That would be a basic set up I think would be alright.

If they make Bane a henchman, I'd rather not see him. As for Talia, if she's introduced, the best way for her to go would be for her to have some sort of affection to Batman, as she always has.Man, I'd love to see the Joker again...but I'm still against a recast. Damn...
Oh, he shouldn't be a henchman, he should plot for himself. In fact, I would like to see Talia being more on the good side and working with Batman and Bane backstabbing them (maybe with Joker and the mobsters)
Seems complicated...I could see him working for her maybe like he worked for Thorne's lady in TAS, but Talia would never work with Batman because she'd more than likely try to follow her father's plans. And as we know, it's okay that they want to lead Earth into a new paradise, but killing off a lot of the world's population is what's problematic.
And as much as I dislike the idea, if the Joker got recast, I nominate Daniel Day Lewis. He has ultra respect for Heath Ledger so at least if he got cast we'd be safe knowing he wouldn't imitate what Ledger did.

Well, I was more picturing him working for her, like he worked for her in Batman: Legacy.

I'm pretty sure Talia wasn't hugely into the whole 'killing the world's population' thing, that was more Ra's' schtick. She could probably be won over by 'The Detective', anyway.
And Bane's character in BTAS. ❌ His was the one character which Dini really failed to adapt successfully.

That could work, but what I was saying was have Bruce & Talia have some sort of romantic relationship instead of Bane & Talia.
Well, it was inspired by that storyline, in which Talia and Bane had a sort of relationship, which he could feel is threatened by batman, for example.

To be honest, the Bane/ Talia thing wasn't much of a relationship. Ra's pretty much exchanged Talia's hand in marriage for Bane's service. She was still into Batman...
But she did use Bane. It wasn't really a love thing, it was more like mutual using. But it was still quite good and could be used.
