Yeah Blackpearl 🙂 agreed.

Its like he deliberatley sent Will over to the flying dutchman because he wanted to be rid of him(not kil him). Subconciously Will is his competition and its obviously because of Liz..She's the one he cant get and he is probaly pissed off that Will got her so he feels he has to win her over..Its like an alpha male thing going on lol. Totally won her over though lol.

Even when all 3 men were fighting at the end he decided to get Will in trouble by reminding Norrington that Will won Elizabeth. He's trying to cause tension over her between those two men so he can escape..which could symbolise him going and getting her whilst the others are distracted.

That or Will was the only one that Jack convinced to go to the Flying Dutchman hoping to save himself.

could be that and it probably is. But he seems to be really off put by Will in this movie..like Will is pissing him off a bit by just being there. He was probably happy to be rid of him for a while... I think he see's him as compitition over Liz. He just doesnt realise why he's like that with Will. During the first movie he wasnt like that as much with him.

Well in the first movie he needed Will to break the curse and to kill Barbossa. In this one he is trying to save himself from Davy Jones.

Yeh you are actually right I think^

But there is this whole competition Jack feels with Will. Firstly Will has Elizabeth, Jack probably see's her as the one woman he cant get. This means Will has something he doesn't have and If he's going to be the alpha male he needs to beat Will at that.. So i can understand why Jack is a bit iffy when Will is around. Or when he buts in on his territory like he did with Tia.

Jack might also be falling for Liz but doesnt realise yet..and thats why he's subconciously iffy about Will.

Yea^^ and I don't think Will completely understands Jack....the way Liz does...

okay so the speech Jack gives Davey Jones, about Will being in love... with a girl... dividing her from him and him from her would only be half as cruel as allowing them to wed in Holy matrimony... etc... whats up with that line? I think it has meaning, like, i dont think Jack was just trying to get out of a few more souls. I think it plays along with the theory that Will's life mirrors Davy Jone's in a way.
So what does Jack mean it would be crueler to allow them to wed?

^^ wow.......that's something to think about.......i'm not sure.....but i'll come up with a theory lol.......that is a really good question.....

so here's a compass question that i think we've already discussed. is it possible that Tia is messing with the compass? i dont doubt liz and jacks mutual attraction and growing regard, but i can definatley see Tia fiddling with it to make things go the way she wants them to...

yeah Blackpearl, i am waiting for that theory!!! 🙂

^ haha, ok, this is what I thaught up.....

Since Will's life mirrors Davy's life, than splitting up Will and Liz would be less cruel (particularly to Will) because if Will and Liz still love eachother, that still won't stop the fact that Liz wants to be free, like Jack, and have a pirate lefestyle, also like Jack, and that will still develope, and that is not the life Will want's to lead, so, then, since Will can't have both the life he wants, and the girl he wants, he will cut out his heart...like Davy.....Will's life is on the same path as Davy's was......that's what I think......

yeh good observation...cuz he knows liz doesnt want to marry him.

It could also be him trying to seperate will/liz for his own benifit.

I dont actualy get why Jack said that to him..was he trying to persuade Davy J to take will or was he saying "have sympathy on him, he's in love let him go?"

lots of good thoughts... 🙂 yeah i can see it that if Will and Liz got married, there would be no room for escape for either of them. and since Jack seems to know Liz wants more than the picket fence/will lifestyle, he knows she will want out eventually. so to seperate them early would give both of them a better chance of surviving a breakup or somethin. gosh its so complicated. hahahaha. i will laugh sooo hard if they totally play the liz/jack thing off as nothing in the next one.

OHH i see where you're getting. yeh thats so true. Jack knows Liz/Will wont end happily because they are two different people.. Its like "stop a disaster before it happens"..Stop Will taking the same horrible destiny as Davy J.

That explains why jack said that to him. He used what he knew to save his own skin. It was to make Davy J take sympathy and keep Will..which meant Jack could get away.

If Jack didnt suggest the whole love thing then Davy wouldnt have settled on keeping Will.

Yea^^ Jack can see what's coming......so he wants to save Will and Liz some pain....

is there really going to be a wedding in the next one???

I don't think so........but possibly.......

so another random question (thanks guys for always having good answers) were tia and barbossa a thing once? why is she helping barbossa?

AND tia's line after "i thought i knew you": "Not so well as I had hoped..." is that meant to be a bash on Jack's lovemaking skills, or is it referring to the fact that he is a bad friend?

Well, what I think about the first thing, Tia and Barbossa could have been together once, but I think that would mean that Tia would have braught him back to life alot sooner than when she did.

and the second thing, It could mean either of those, I don't think it's saying he is a bad friend to her, because she gave him that jar of dirt, but she didn't give a very good explaination to how it could help him, so it might be a bad luck charm, but I don't think it was a bash on his lovemaking skills, because it dosn't sound to much like something of that nature, and Jack would have been really offended if that's what she meant.

Apparently there may be a wedding...but a wedding doesn't directly mean Will/Liz will get married..It could mean there is a ceremony but Liz leaves him at the alter

Which is seemingly what happened to davy Jones...which would bring the whole Will/Jones similarity to a climax.

LOL that would be funny if it was a bash at his love making skills lmao.

oh gee so much suspense....
maybe Liz will get kidnapped before the wedding and will thinks she ran out on him, and cuts out his heart, and liz is like woops, guess i have to be with jack now...
