Gay marriages-yes or no?

The thing that bugs me is the whole "sanctity of marriage" argument. I mean, is marriage really sacred when half of all marriages end in divorce?

By that reasoning, black and white Americans had equal marriage rights prior to 1967, because they had the equal right to marry someone of the same race.

I used that as one reason in countering his idiocy; he ignored it and went on to rant about "illegitimacy rates in the black community" and how it served as an example of how illegitimacy would sky rocket when gays ultimately divorced (because we all know gays can't be loyal and monogamous) and their children would all grow up horribly, depressed and outcast in a one gay-parent household.

i know a guy who i presume is gay...well his truck was spray painted with stuff like "**** you" and basically of that stature....

well i'd hate to imagine what would happen if he got married in my community...

In my life I've had friends that were gay, but wouldn't let me know. I found out from other people. Did I exclude them as my friends? NO, though most of them were guys, and they were really fun....I felt so bad that they would tell me that they had probs. with their girl friends, when it was their boy friends.......I never let on that I knew.........So sad that they couldn't tell me......... 🙁
