What is so great about AOTC???

I feel the story of ROTS should have been stretched out over tow movies, largely against the background of the Clone Wars. Who cares where the clones come from if they're just a background. We never hear why or how the Death Star was built, who cares... it's there... done with it, on with the story.

Definately... two movies featuring the clone wars would have been awesome...

Agreed. RoTS only show the minimal construction of the Death Star. It would be good to centre the plot on its building, would make a rather interesting development reflecting the rationale for its creation.

EMPEROR: Lord Vader, we have plans for a huge gigantic battlestation that could destroy an entire planet. It would be so huge - people would exclaim "look at the size of that thing!" in terrified voices.

VADER: But my master, it would be a technological terror that would subvert the people's faith in the power of the Force.

EMPEROR: The Sith is now the Force. The Force is Sith. Everyone else do not know of it. We need a tangible weapon that could neutralise the Senate, my friend. I want it dissolved. I never did like it down there. That's why i threw all those senator seats at that green imp Yoda.

Years later.. ( Episode IV )

VADER: My master, you were right. The rebel scums did say "look at the size of that thing!"

EMPEROR: Muaahahhaa. It is as I have forseen...
😄

😆

See! It's not that hard writing in Lucas style.

Star Wars, Shmar Wars.

A massive agreement has been reached here, I think they may have shown at least something about the clone wars in general, I mean it's still Star Wars isn't it? Not Star Romance or "Drama in the Stars"..
If they would have shown some massive battleground scenes they could have shown more of the jedi council and build up their characters until their deaths perfectly.
Instead we got to see new random council members every episode.

Hehehe, indeed. Oh, where is Gary Kurtz when you need him.

I had enjoyed the Clone Wars cartoons better truthfully.. especially the volume two of its dvd. When i was watching that i cant help but think that it wud have been great if it was in the movie.

I don't get it...I've seen so much Clone Wars bashing on these threads...why the love all of a sudden?

It would've been a great film...that lightsaber dual w/ that sith chick...classic (I love the water drops in the cavern echoing vader's breathing device...spooky).

I like the cartoons... I have them all. But it wouldn't have brought Anakin's story forward very much. Unless a major shift in background story would have been done.

I loved the clone wars, they did some truly amazing stuff, and i know its animated, but whoever directed that show deserves serious praise, there are some incredible shots:

saesee tiin's (sp?) fighter squadron heading into space, and at first it just looks like stars but then zooms in to show all the cruisers killing each other...

anything with the arc troopers, especially that moment when grievous attacks them and then the gunship appears, and there's that few seconds (if its even that), where the gunship and grievous appear to be trying to stare each other down...

to be honest, imo there's one thing the clone wars can be summed up as: badass. the show goes to great pains to show how badass some characters can be... saesee tiin and his troops leaping from one cruiser to another in open space, kit fisto's underwater battle, the arc troopers in general, shaak ti protecting the chancellor, mace windu versus a whole army, all that...

very little anakin though, thats true... though the ventress battle was pretty good...

i love the anakin trials with the nelvan warriors. Shares a light on anakin's turn thru the vision that was shown to him. I think obi-wan told him, "it is your choices that determines your destiny". kinda explains alot.

Why? That choices-thing was the core of SW to begin with. Lucas always said that the story of Anakin was to explore how someone could turn from good to evil. His answer: choice.

I really hated the Nelvan sequence. It consistantly annoys me.

If there was anything in Clone Wars that didn't seem like Star Wars or like it could be in a SW film, it's the Nelvan sequence...

..."Ar-ar-ar-ar-ar!!"

The rest though is solid.

I agree. I hated getting all exciting during the battle of CORUSCANT...and then watching a bunch of fat blue ogres smash hings.

😂
