"Eh? Axel looked at her. "We're on Reach Rae." He said. "It's the head quarters of ONI and the UNSC, not to mention it's the biggest most foritifed and sophisitcated military planet in existence. They have things going on here that most people couldn't even comprehend. The best hackers in the UNSC couldn't get into the important parts of the systems, I dont think they'd just let us walk into our bunks with food. They probably have scanners...weight detectors..."
Camilla didn't mind Axel glaring at her, the large boy was doing something bad and she didn't mind doing what she had done. She might regret it later but for now she was glad the boy was stopped and she grabbed some food and stashed it so no one would see and she walked to Raevynn and heard about what Axel was saying.
- "How come you know all that? Did you hear one of the soldiers talking?" - Camilla said.
(For a bunch of 7 and 6 year olds you guys act like 20 year olds hehe 😛 )
"No." Axel said, "I'm a prodigy, intellectually anyway, even by our standards. I can analyse and take in information and an accelerated rate, and dont often forget what I think is important. My strength comes from High-G, and that will wear off. My father was an ODST and I learned a lot from him. However, everyone knows what Reach is. Like I said, biggest military planet in existence. It's standard procedure, my father told me, and it makes sense. They wouldn't want someone to infiltrate. It's logic, common sense." Axel looked at her, "Your friend is a hacker. I saw him, that's a different kind of intelligence. More IQ, knowledge based. I take in knowledge better than others, but I couldn't hack like he does. He's got a different kind of intellect." He tapped the side of his head.
Travis thought back to the "playground". He hadn't had a problem with not eating as long as he stayed below everyone's radar. He didn't try particularly hard to win the race, instead he focused on helping the others better their chances o making it. Now he sat at the table and looked down at his meal. He looked down and saw two girls talking to one another rather animatedly. He recognized the one known as Camilla, from his school on Helerion 4. He knew he should be getting to know the others, but he had developed sort of a loner mentality since he arrived. He knew from his father that teamwork saved lives in the battlefield, but he couldn't bring himself to attempt small talk at the moment.
Axel gazed at Travis for several second. Despite his own neurotic condition of distancing himself, he sensed a kindred soul. Taking his plate, he sat down beside the other kid. "Hey." He said, eyeing his food. "I noticed how you helped the other children during the exercise. Your actions were a lot like my own. No one gets left behind." He looked at him now, "A team is only as strong as it's weakest link...or so my father told me."
((See! I dont act like a 20 year old! If it was teh wuote would be, "I notcied how you helped the others during the exercise, and couldn't ignore the fact that your actions paralleled my own. You understand that a taem is only as strong as it's weakest link. Honor, patriatism...no one gets left behind."😉)
[]Hah 20? More like 35 lol. Jeeez LF.. I don't think foritifed, sophisticated, or prodigy are in a 7 year old's limited vocabulary. My character would hardly understand a word of that.[]
Raevynn rolled her eye's at Axel as he walked off.
"Know it all." She grumbled undertone so that only Jacob and Camilla would hear. "We should head back before everyone else does."
Her eye's darted around the room for any potential authority figures. With none being spotted, she grabbed a steak off the table and shoved that into her sweat suit too.
"Where should I start?"
He eyed the food left to right, up and down, and almost drooling. After all that running he wouldn't mind a nice plate of hot food. He basically insintivly snatched up whatever he could while no one looked for a split second and power walked off like nothing happened. He took so much food though he had trouble balancing the plate wih most of the food on one side.
Abbra emerged from under the table, remaining well hidden through out the entire food fight. A little mashed potato remained at the right side of her nose. Slowly she came with her dish looking around to see if the commotion had stopped. 'What started this?' She asked through a wrinkled brow. She stepped over a chicken wing and a few drops of blood over to the other girls. She laughed seeing food stains on the other's clothes and set her plate down on the table. 'What do you mean you didn't get enough to eat?!' She said looking around, 'You didn't mind throwing it away.' She said with a smirk. She followed Rae and Camilla to their dorm and flopped over on the bottom cot of the bed opposite to them. She laughed at Camilla and watched her. 'Don't get to many crumbs on the floor and your bed. They might notice you were sneaking food in.' Already imagining the consequences.
Raevynn had climbed into the bunk ontop of Camillas. Most of the kid's were still eating, so they had a chance to settle in.
She watched as Abbra walked into the room. This girl must have done a good job staying unnoticed. She didn't remember her too well from earlier.
"Hey, Whats your name?" She asked curiously. "Im Raevynn, and this is my friend, Camilla." She blurted, pointing to Camilla with a half eaten cookie.
