you claim not to assume and then run with the same assumption. i stated my case and all you can come back with is that the possible ends justifies the means. since the government just might trace a terrorist organisation through warrantless domestic spying (not just phone records), should we allow them to place peaceful protestors on a terror watch list. should we allow them to be equated with those who murder innocents?

I will close by saying that just because someone calls themselves a "peaceful" protestor doesn't mean it's necesssarily so. Oftentimes these groups have questionable financial backing and are fronts for more extreme behind-the-scene parties.

funding based on partisanship of political organisations has nothing to do with fundamental extremists flying planes into buildings. the reason given for said spying is the protection of america from terrorist attacks, not blatant bias in politics. if the latter was the case, we would indeed be in a dictatorship, wouldnt we?
