cap vs spider-man

Here's a pretty reasonable compromise since you don't know the actual number necessary, you're something of a Cap fan but lack all of his appearances right? Well then you name(and preferably provide an issue number for) every "low showing" of Cap's durability that you can think of to indicate him being unable to withstand superhuman punches, and I'll post 5x that number in scans of his taking shots from superhuman foes. How's that sound?
that would require either recalling the exact issue of every cap "low-end" durability feat. that or i search for every single low end durability showing i recall's issue number by trying to find issues based on what i remember transpiring in them

those first 2 are almost impossible.........even remebering every time i've seen cap KOed by less than spidey strength would be hard. you have an advatage. you're obviously a more avid fan and have access to his showings already. i am in no way stating that you don't deserve the edge......because you did have to acquire all those showings, but i honestly feel as if i cannot possibly win.....at the very least it's not in my willpower to do what is neccessary to win.

it is kinda like what goes on in my hammond vs threads. they may assume they know much about him......but they haven't seen all his showings or most likely not even the majority of them. what they state may be "rational" concerning what they've seen from him and his stats, but they could always be wrong.........i usually know whether they are or not, for obvious reasons.

It's not everytime he was ko'd(which WOULD be tough to remember), it's just his "low showings" against meta's and "humans", and those are comparatively few and far between. But just so you're not the one under the gun, I'll go ahead and post some feats for Cap, and you can work on countering them afterwards. Just give me a few minutes to get some of them uploaded...

if you look at it frankly. this is basically me with what i can remember and no scans or even recollection issue numbers vs you with a monstrous stack of feats, extensive analysis of and time with them(i assume), and more will to carry on with this in general.

my thread of hammond has just over 300 scans. i can't imagine the time you'll have with a few thousand. good luck with that and looking forward to it BTW.

On another and more personal note, it takes a big man to concede in a debate rather than carry on out of personal pride so you just earned a big mark of favor in my book. I'll be sure to let you know as soon as it's up cause what I just posted ain't nothing compared to the final package. There's over 100 scans in the strength section alone and something like 250 fights in the combat section(and don't even ask about section on speed)...

Spidey is faster, stronger, more agile (which means he is able to dodge) his spider sense gives him an even bigger advantage. Caps abilities max out at olympian level, Spidey is a Super-human. This shouldn't even be a fight. I mean did you really think marvel is going to allow Cap to be beat straight up in a fight... I know Batman did in the crossover, but it only happened because of the flood gate in the sewer opening when it did, not because of ability. Spidermans abilities keep him safe and secure in this fight, and over time his endurance and stamina when it for him.

When you are a superior fighter and know your opponent's fighting skills and powers inside out. Then being phsyically superior in strength (which doesn't mean crap to Cap), being more agile than Cap (although not enough for him to run circles around him since Cap arguably has better agility feats), and being similarly durable as Cap really isn't being vastly physically superior at all. Beast has an advantage in all those stats over Cap as well and he gets curbstomped by Cap. Having a little bit extra in those areas yet being handicapped because Cap knows him inside out results in basically the same result.

"He's hit me three times. I didn't get him once. Elapsed time... ten seconds. The man knows more about hand to hand fighting than I'll ever learn in a hundred years. Makes me feel like a chump. Fine. Use the anger. Make him fight my way. Not his. He's studied me. That's why he wants to fight close. He knows my every move, my every skill and power..."

This isn't hard. Just listen to Spidey himself.

i wouldn't exactly look to their comic book encounters for the most accurate determination.

but it is true the goober has somewhat opened my eyes to just how formiddable cap can be.

that being said.......i still think if spidey puts his powers to good use and seriously fights cap, he'll achieve a large majority and control the fight if not dominate.

Nope not yet. I've started the uploading and such, but when you're working with these kinda numbers in front of you it gets monotonous real quick so it's tought to devote a lot of time to it. But I'm thinking about skipping messing with some of the less important stuff(like golden age stuff and alternate universes) until later on so if I end up doing that it won't take quite as long.

Theres really no point in me planning to do a Cap respect thread then really. To be quite honest with you though im not sure if its worth doing a really massive Cap respect thread when hes so consistently written.
