thats ridiculous. I did a report on infidelity and divorces last year for my oral comm. class. I spent nearly everday for a month, because this was our final report, looking up information on divorce and infidelity statistics, and none of them gave out 0.38% for divorces. Thats ridiculous. I'm not buying it.

Congratulations and all...................................but seriously, as romantic as it may seem, you need to think about this in the long term.
If you're a fourteen year old who thinks you're ready for marriage, then you clearly haven't thought it out enough.

That's the percentage of the population getting divorced in any one year, not the total percentage of marriages that end in divorce, which is right now about 50%
"3. PROJECTION/PREDICTION. This is the Census Bureau's often-cited "50%" rate, the proportion of marriages taking place right now that will eventually divorce, which has since been revised downward to roughly 43% by the National Center for Health Statistics but was moved back up to around 50% by the Census Bureau in 2002, with even more ifs ands and buts than usual. Most recently, according to the New York Times, it has been revised downward to just over 40%."
From the page you just linked.

Yea, that's prediction and projection, not fact.

I'm not buying 50 percent that's ****in impossible. That would mean 1 in 2 marriages would end in divorce. That's ridiculous.38 seems much more possible.
maybe you're just one of the lucky few who aren't exposed to many broken families. Nearly all my friends and I have divorced parents.

You don't think that's possible or reasonable?
Trust me, it is.
You ever see anyone go through a divorce?

The site you linked supported our argument.
Stats have also shown that the younger you are when you marry, the more likely it is that it will end in divorce.

I don't, and this is much more complicated than yes no .. besides the fact that there so young.. rae told me some stuff a while go.. that would pretty much make any girl want to dump him flat out

I'm very happy for her because she's obviously very happy.
And I don't disagree, it's their business.
I'd be like 10 times as excited if it worked for them instead of saying "I told you so."
