Yeah, they have adult games. Nothing I can think of but....

I wonder why everyone I talk to outside of the internet is going to buy the PS3. Regardless of their money situations or additude towards gaming. But whatever. Internet people are smarter anyways.

Metroid, RE4, Perfect Dark and Goldeneye on N64...Sony seems to have the idea that adult means senseless violence; Nintendo does not.

And maybe they don't follow all the gaming news as closely as some of us on here do?

[B]No no no. Nintendo games are for the most part designed to be simple and fun, but that does NOT mean they are only for kids. And they do have a good number of games that are more adult.

But the games meant for adults were also for Sony and Xbox. Simple and fun does not usually attract the older gamers.

Nintendo has always had the funnest games.

No, they were later ported over to the other systems. Not launched at the same time for all three.

And since when? I know tons of gamers, my own age and older, and most everyone I know loves games like Mario Party and Mario Kart and things like that - simple and fun, and easy to play.

Ditto.

I'll be scraping all my resources together to afford a Wii once it comes out. No way in hell could I afford to blow $600 on a system and then a handful of games at $60-70 a pop.

Then again I'm a college student who, if I want something, pays for it myself.

I see exactly where your coming from, I'll be doing the same.

Yeah, everything I buy comes straight from my paychecks so I find it difficult to spend $600 of my labor on a gaming system.

Or most "legendary" games at least.

That's possbile. Not ALL of them do. But the few that d are anyways.

But still I've ruled out the X-box 360 because thus far, all I've seen from it is graphics. Currently I'm going with the ps3 because History repeats itself, and for me, with consoles, I haven't liked Nintendo as much as PS3. But it all depends on what games they have, and the gameplay for the console. Until I see that from all 3 consoles, I haven't made a 100% decision, but I'm currently leaning towards the PS3.

Anyways, I'd love to continue this discussion, but I've got some video-gaming to do. I'll see you in this thread/the Videogame discussion thread tomorrow. Caio.

Most gamers that are into senseless violence are teenage boys. Not a majority in any stretch of the word.

What do older gamers have to do with anything? If it sells, it sells.

My centiments exactly. But I just get those for my DS. CHeaper, and portable.

I am looking forward to the Nintendo's Wii ability to download the SNES, NES, and SEGA games.

Yes, that was a tempting reason for me tobuy it. Which I probablly won't. Unless PS3 is the worst thing since the King of Kings.

I grew up on Nintendo, having played on an NES since I was 2 years old. I have a PS2 though, not a Gamecube, and while I like the PS2, my brother and I got it primarily for a couple of games we wanted (Final Fantasy and GTA). When it comes to the PS3 and Wii...Wii wins hands down. There's no guarantee FF is going to stay exclusive to Sony anymore, and other games like Zelda and Mario win it for me.

because sony wanted to make games intended for teens and adults. nintendo always wanted to be for children, it was probably more about the customers satisfaction then the money.

But if they had maintained a balance, wouldnt that have brought in more money?

I'm a teenage boy. I buy all kinds of games that aren't violent. I buy sports and racing games. But mostly everything else is violence because it's a fighting game (like dragonball Z) an adverture game (Like Jak or Ratchet) a shooting game (like gun) or a movie game (like star wars) which all have violence in them. Different degrees of it, of course.

Wii will RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, definitely. I still have most of my NES games, but as they're all 17-18 years old, a lot don't work anymore, which sucks.
