Not everyone has to participate in the same topic and the same debates, a thread might not appeal to you, but another thread that does appeal to you might not appeal to someone else.

Eg, you can pick any thread in here that you think is crap, doesnt really matter, but Ill throw one from the GDF here: Mel Gibson Goes Crazy: Jews Caused All Wars...

I dont particularly care what Mel Gibson has to say about his views on Jewish people or wars, it has no relevance to anything. so maybe that thread should be garbaged.

Not true AC. I'm a federal employee involved in serious matters every day. Not earth shattering, but matters that directly affect people in my community. I make decisions that can and will hurt them financially and in some cases, more. I DEBATE with them until I am blue in the face. I discuss things in meetings and boardrooms endlessly, with members of parliament and other municipal and provincial dignitaries. I am well versed in many areas that span a wide variety of topics. When I come to KMC, I CHOOSE not to get involved in serious discussions, because I DON'T WANT TO. Not because I am not good at them.

It's only subjective as far as preference. If it comes down to which forum has the better threads with criteria such as thread content, vis-a-vis being a defining attribute to KMC as a forum, it will be the GDF.

Note the "In my experience..." part. Also, I didn't mean that entirely as a blanket statement. Not all people find things boring because they're not good at them, sure.

I understand, and I didn't mean it as a blanket statement that all people there are sticks in the ass. What I take offence to is the general perception that the OTF members are by and large, idiots. Now, before you say that you didn't say that, let me just state that THAT seems to be inferred, if you grant that the OTF itself is crap, then that must mean the people who contribute to it are.

The onyl reason I bothered posting on this topic was because Eis came in and gave his opinion that it should be written off because all OTFers are basically morons, when he doesnt even post here, so why should it matter? Why dont I go and slander off the Star Wars VS forum for being redundant, the forum is pointless, why continue talking about fictional characters fighting each other? I dont because I dont care what they do over there, it doesnt affect me here.

You'd have to ask Eis that, I don't know. I've always said that you should simply ignore something that bothers you. I would say the same to Eis if this turns out to be the case.

Please, if you want to support your favourite forum against one you don't really like, do it somewhere else. This thread was simply intended to find out whether people think the OTF should or shouldn't be deleted. It's not a competition, as I've tried to clarify on many occasions.
