I fully understand he has a point and I have no problem with that. This is just one of those special situations where there is no obvious answer for everyone. I see no need for him to make others views inferior to his own.

Ok, I'll say it clearer and give you the benefit of the doubt in assuming you genuinely don't get it.
It's not a necessity to me, right? Good. It's a necessity to you, right? Good. It's NOT a necessity to KMC, as a running forum. Ok? That's a fact. It's a fact because KMC would not crumble nor suffer a heavy loss if it was gone, proof being that it survived a good long while without the OTF.
You are being ignorant and ignoring everything I say. It's not a necessity to my time here, it is to you, ok? I got that, I said that from the start. The fact is, it's not a necessity to KMC's existence.

Fine on that note nothing besides the Movie forum and the News forum that updates users on what's happening in KMC are necessities. Everything else from the OTF to the GDF to the Versus are perks and should all be viewed as that and nothing more.

We did this, do you not remember? If Raz's intentions are to make this primarily a movie forum, then yes, everything but the MDF is not a necessity.
If he views it as a general internet discussion board, then the OTF still isn't a necessity to the forum. To some members, maybe, not to the forum.

Agreed.
And what if views it as a place for everyone without being biased and keeping KMC to his own interests. And instead of making a thread for each and every possible subject he makes a forum for threads that don't quite fit into other forums is it somehow impossible for someone to see the necessity in that?

If the OTF was gone, right now, KMC would carry on normally. There hasn't always been an OTF, proof. If the GDF was gone, it would seriously affect KMC in a way the OTF's demise wouldn't.
Ergo: One is a necessity to the forum (not members) and one isn't.

Sorry AC, but I don't get your reasoning, why is the GDF necessary....it seems just as necessary to KMC as the OTF. If either would be deleted the other would just become more similar to a mix of both. Matter of fact is a General Forum might need a Social Forum but if that is a General Discussion or an Off-Topic one isn't really of any matter, is it?

And the proof of this is where? The OTF is here now it was new then it now has the most post of any other forum. How would anyone know what the deletion of it would do as of now? It's the same with cars. The world survived without them for thousands of years but, what would happen if right now we decided eh no more and stopped making them and gas to run them?
You arguing for the GDF is natural since it is one of your regular hangouts amongst KMC. Is it wrong for you to protect it? No of course not. Is it then hypocritical to say that without it that KMC would collapse but, without the most popular forum it wouldn't just because you see it as a toilet? YES it is.

The GDF, before the creation of the OTF (I wasn't yet a member then though I've looked back through old stuff while bored and have plenty of friends on here who were members), used to be just a general social forum, though if threads went off topic they'd be closed after 100 posts. It's not until after the OTF was made that the topics in there went more serious, and only in the past year that it turned to being mostly serioud debate and political discussion and that sort of stuff.

Basically it still doesn't matter if it is called GDF or OTF neither of them (as they are now...alone) are necessary for KMC.
