Ive been thinking about this alot lately
Brandon Routh Aside... what actor would make a good Superman. And I mean the tru Superman, not the skinny, Calvin Klein underwear model thats been Superman in previous movies.
Ive been doing research and I cant find a definate actor. It always leads back to Tom Welling, because I truly beleive he is the Best Superman alive

Welling is a boy, not a man imo, and he's barely capable as it is...
They guy who models for the alex ross pics, physically is a good match... a modern superman has to be exactly that, a man... someone who actually looks like he's fought the best the galaxy has to offer and survived...
whatever actor it is has to, imo, be mid to late 30s (and look like it), be broad shouldered, and muscular enough, not ed mcguinness muscular, but decent sized... and he has to have a decent voice and presence...
Difference between Brandon Routh and Tom Welling for the role of Superman. Routh doesn't just match Reeve but I find him even better...Welling plays that young man from 1978 the movie - there is a lack of maturity in him compared to Superman (comics) which Brandon Routh possesses. I would like Welling to play the role of Hal Jordan The Green Lantern...it is a DC related super hero and also close to Superman...the ability to fly and such. He's also the right choice as Lantern because this character differs physically from S.

No... no f*ckin way... Routh is NOTHING like the modern superman in the comics...
and the green lantern is nothing like superman... at all...
Tom welling is actually 29 years old so age isnt a difference. He looks young becuase, well obviously he is young clark. Some makeup and maybe a tan will definately make him look older. And remember, he was actually the first choice for Superman, but he turned it down for conflicting roles. Now that the show is in its final season (i hope, for the sake of the superman legacy) he can play superman if they ever make a Superman/Batman movie (which should use a totally different storyline than the other superman batman movies) he is a first choice i beleive. As well as maybe even a live action Superman weekly series. He just screams Superman to me. He just needs to bulk up more and get a tan. But please, any other actors? Clive Owen I looked at actulally fits the facial structure perfectly. He is the Jim Lee version of Superman hands down, but he may be too old and Idk if his body structure is good enough. But i like Clive Owen
nah, Brandon Routh was/is the perfect choice, he was perfect IMHO Tom welling looks too young, and its funny because hes older than Brandon. Brandon has that really mature handsome face, Tom has that little boy cute face. I think it's tom's lips, they look too full.. don't know I just don't think he could have done it plus his voice is way to young sounding, Brandon has that deep manly voice lol

Agreed.
Welling, Routh, even Chris Reeve, were all too young, IMO, to portray SuperMAN (though Reeve did do an admirable job in its own right).
An element of maturity--Not a reflection of a youth-obsessed culture--is what George Reeves brought to his portrayal of Superman in the 1950s TV show. Yes, yes, FX and all that can't compare, but George was definitely Manly in a way his successors have failed to measure up to (he was 37 when he first donned the cape).
I have lately fell in love with Green Lantern super hero...I want him to be Tom Welling no matter what. Nobody wins here Routh or Welling are fine men and no one is better...I am talking about the ideal role each one matches perfectly. And love doesn't mean I'm gay...I love money as well. Make that clear for comic book records.
