This is a question asked in many schools here.

If you only had one life boat, who would you save?

There is only room for a possible 12. But there are 30 people begging.....

Some are larger and would eat more than others.
Some are more important than others in many views.

Would size matter or would their role in society?

Here are some people on the boat:
A teacher
A Priest
A Leader of a country
A Mother
An unemployed person
A child
A pregnant woman
A Huge stock holder
A Scientist
A baby
A single man
A learning disabled person
A mentally disabled person
A physically disabled person
A newly married couple
A dog
The Captain
A drunk
A muslim
A Christian
More food
The gay couple
A beautiful girl/man

Assuming it's like a Noah's Ark thing and the world is ending....
I'd save people based on their role in society and the possibilities for them.

And people may disagree or whatever but I'd definitely save the priest, because I feel even if you don't believe in God and religion yourself you shouldn't deprive others of hope and a priest would be important for that.

Some of those are so broad they're just stupid, for example: "single man", that could apply to anyone.

I would just pick 12 random people. If anyone gave me lip while I was choosing then their ass would stay behind.
