You did cut it apart to take it out of context, though. He was saying that he wasn't sure if he'd ever had a sock check run on him, and you posted just the bit that said "I'm not sure".And as I said, we're not in the habit of telling someone when they've had a check run on them, unless it says they are a sock, in which case they're banned.
I posted a part of that article, I did not edit it.
In order to edit something, I would have to change it.
What did I change, exactly?

True, but I didn't say that to his comment. I said it in a different context. Meaning you edited the quote's context. Quote editor! And you did preform a double negitive. Don't try to lie. Regardless of how I spelt something, you also made a mistake, making you look even worse.
It was intended for the purpose of a pun, but I still didn't edit anything. For all I know, you mean't it in that context. Abide, you have no proof that it was in the primary context you claim it was.

You edited the post by deleting the majority of it, thus changing the post.
I did not delete the majority, it still exists upon a differential level. The post was not changed, only a small portion of it was shown once again. This is not editing. Editing would be changing. Nothing was changed, only parts were shown.

Anything other than showing the full post is editing it, because you are leaving parts out.
And I'd say that quoting three words of a three-line post is cutting out the majority of it.
