None white girls can't screw!
That's really just a sexist joke.

Well, it's not like you can not take the responsibility.
But knowing that, why do you take the chance that you will deeply upset someone over this?

Scrutiny is not the correct word. What you are trying to say it that you are willing to put up with putting other people into an emotionally distressing situation for laughs.

The excuse "it's just humor" doesn't really fly though, does it? Just because something is said with the intent to amuse it doesn't excuse the underlying assumption nor the consequences of the words.
Besides, I'm not telling him he can't say it, I'm advocating he uses some introspection and doesn't decide to say it himself in the future.

It's political correctness gone MAAAAAD!
Not really though, considering what you say and parsing it for whether it will harm others for no reason is obviously something you should do, if you still decide to go ahead, fair enough, but others can obviously call you out and treat you for the ******* you are if you choose that route, yeah?

I just don't like the implications of people being told what they can and can't say. It's not like he went up to someone he knew that lost a kid and said that joke. Context is everything.
And the context here is that he is posting about it publicly on a forum where hundreds of people may potentially see it and some of them could very much have been affected by a miscarriage or a child's death. That's why I would suggest to him that he reconsider making these jokes.
They're all in the GDF. Making off colour jokes does not mean a person is a dick, actually being a dick means a person is a dick. Intent to hurt or offend.
Btw guys, my dad nearly died in a coma, multiple members of my family have died of cancer, my grandad got dementia, my uncle was institutionalised, and I was once bi. Please feel free to make any coma, cancer, mental health or sexuality jokes you like; I understand that a joke can just be a joke. Oh, I'm also a white male, and I won't be offended if you make jokes about men or white people, either.

Being offended by words from strangers always seemed weird to me. It's like people are going way out of their way to get offended.
I can understand being offended by words of friends, close coworkers*, family members, and loved ones. That's because you desire respect and acceptance from those people (usually). But strangers on the internet? That's just weird to get offended by them.
Make as many offensive jokes as you want. I don't care.
*People at my last job used to make fun of my religion all the time and we had good laughs about it. So I guess that's not true for everyone. 🙂
Edit - The modern equivalent of physically assaulting someone for saying words you didn't like is getting offended. Yesterday's punch in the face is today's, "Wah? Well! That's offensive! How dare you!" To me, the Political Correctness people feel the same to me as overly macho people that used to punch people for saying things they didn't like: I get the same vibe. Feels territorial, insecure, etc.
Hey guys don't fret it. Both of you make valid points.
Bardock can say those jokes are awful and unfunny (I tend to agree) and he can outwardly admit distaste for folks telling those jokes. Pretty fair.
Scribble can support dark humor.
I think the problem here lies in people telling others that they shouldn't feel how they feel, rather than recognize their actual emotions and reactions.
Louis C.K said it once "when you hurt someone, you don't get to decide that you really didn't."

You are aware that it does upset other people though, right? And you lose virtually nothing by just not making a joke about it, so why even do it? I mean, I've been there, I was one of those "how dare society tell me what to say!!!" people, but that's not really what it is about, it's about choosing to censor oneself to make other people a tiny bit less miserable.
No one's actually stopping anyone from saying anything and no one's a cool rebel by making extreme and hurtful jokes, really, even though it's nice to feel that way.
Guys, guys...

Well, I fully agree with that, but I would again reiterate (yes, reiterate AND again) that I have neither told Scribble he can't like dark humor, nor that genesis-soldier can't make these jokes, I've just been advocating that he shouldn't do it because of the reasons I stated.
