Cut back to Dumas(played by a very sexy antonio bandaras), who is on a ship at night. Unsurprisingly, Davy Jones is next to him.
Jones: Why does everything in this blasted ocean always boil down to love?
Dumas: I can't say Captain. We men are fools, all.
Jones: (taking a swig of rum) aint that the truth.
Dumas: And you still want revenge?
Jones: (sighing) I want her back... and I can't have her. I never understood before what the phrase "the end of the world" meant. I didn't protect her... I didn't save her... it's me own fault.
Dumas: Hardly. Tia Dalma made her own enemies, and fought her own battles. She never asked you to protect her.
Jones: (slamming his rum bottle down) But I ought to have. (gets quiet again) It's over for me, lad. There's not much life left in this old body, not much spark left in this old heart. Death is coming for me, I can feel it. But I would like to take Jack with me, if I could. I won't feel right meeting Her on the other side, unless I've avenged her.
Dumas: And you think killing Jack is the best way to avenge her?
Jones: It's the only way I know how. (pauses) You're also a man in love.
Dumas: (laughing wryly) Perhaps it's just lust. Kate pursued me, you know. Just to the point where I got hooked, and then suddenly, she pulled back, with that mocking look on her face. She takes pleasure in breaking men's hearts, I think. I wasn't the first and I won't be the last to fall under her spell. I should have seen it in her eyes... mystery, and beauty... and danger. (he laughs again, harshly, and gulps some rum)
Jones: I'm not surprised she chased after that Turner boy. He'd be a prize for her, and no mistake. Elevate her from her guttersnipe status, right to governor's wife.
Dumas: (growing tense) Please Captain. I'd rather not speak of the waif, if you don't mind. I'll deal with her soon enough.
Jones: (laughing) if I know women, it'll be HER having her way with you.
Cut back to the Pearl, which has docked at the little island Jack and Liz were first marooned on. The crew is asleep on the beach. Jack and Liz are looking up at the stars and talking.
Jack: Who'd have thought? The pirate king and queen settling down, having a family.
Liz: I'll admit, I dont think I'm prepared for it...
Jack: Well at least you got me to propose... (grinning) Oldest trick in the book, love.
Liz: What?
Jack: Don't get me wrong. I've wanted to marry you for ages, love... but I didn't think you would have me.
Liz: It's not like you to underestimate yourself, Jack.
Jack: It's not like YOU to lie to me... (he's still grinning)
Liz: Allright Jack, I'm not pregnant. I can say that for sure and certain as of this morning. But it was nice... everyone always worried about me, and you being so pleasant and gentlemanly. I might decide I WANT to be pregnant soon.
Jack: (laughing) That's my girl. But what kind of life would that be for a child?
Liz: The perfect life, as far as I'm concerned.
Jack: But what if precious Dumas got a hold of me? Then you'd be all alone...
Liz: I can take care of myself, thank you. And I would rescue you.
Jack: You already have, love. What's the score, by the way?
Liz: Something like 4 to 5, with me ahead. It'll be your turn to risk your life for me next time.
Jack: Here's a question for you... When did the Pearl get so many ladies aboard? Love is in the air. All the men have been acting strange... arg...
ooh, I love it. The pirate king and queen. Instant melt-worthy line
Liz: Your sister seems to be taken with Will.
Jack: I noticed so does that Kate. Best thing for him, maybe, a ship full of women. Mr. Gibbs....
(they both laugh, not knowing the stuff we all know. They still think he's leery about women on board)
Liz: Jack, I really thought I was for a bit. If Jacky...
Jack: All's past, love. (kisses her) By the way, (she looks up at him) isn't a little convenient Ms. Abi met up with her fiance on such an island?
Liz: I thought so, but I still think Kate is suspicious.
Jack: All women are suspicious...except you.
Liz: What would you think about spying on them? Getting all the girls together, myself included, and prying a little.
Jack: You want to be away from me?
Liz: Only a little. Besides, I don't plan on sleeping much tonight (grins wickedly at him)
Jack: Find out whatever you can, love
