Beckett's Cabin -
Elizabeth is tied up to a chair, many guards surround. Beckett has the pirate brand in his hand, twirling it around mockingly to scare her.
BECKETT: would you like some personal advice *beat* Mrs. Sparrow
Elizabeth throws him a filthy look and ignores him.
BECKETT: Very well, but i warn you. You’re wasting your life, living this childhood dream. The deepest circle of hell awaits you, all your friends and the dearest Jack Sparrow
ELIZABETH: (whispering harshly) Captain! And once again, you ruin my wedding night!
BECKETT: (laughs) Another marriage interrupted, I seem to be getting rather good at this. It's fate and a mistake, being with that man. You may have discovered in the past, Mr. Sparrow, for a better word - betrays. He'll eventually find another whore ... and forget you. (We get the idea he's meddling with her mind and thoughts, (maybe we can write Beckett into using Elizabeth later in the script to trap Jack????) trying to confuse and overpower her) Do you honestly think Jack can keep up a commitment forever?
ELIZABETH: Jack loves me, and I love him. We’ve saved eachother countless times. Nothing can change this. How do you know Jack can’t keep up a commitment! Besides, what would you know of love?
Beckett pulls an angry, hurt face. Elizabeth knows something of his past. Elizabeth smiles; satisfied to herself. Beckett looses it.
BECKETT: (furious) I tried to be reasonable, people never learn though.
Guards then hold Elizabeth’s head back, Beckett grabs her arm and presses the pirate brand as hard as he can into he arm. Elizabeth screams out in absolute torture – screen goes BLACK.
The Black Pearl –
Night - Jack is at the wheel; he’s navigating through a freak storm with his compass. The crew are running around trying to hold the ship. They keep falling over due to the ship’s movement, the rain and the wind. Will climbs the stairs as best as he can, clinging onto the rail.
WILL: (yelling over the noise of the storm) Beckett couldn’t of just disappeared *big wave crashes over* like that. We must be close!
JACK: Obviously *another big wave* were not!
Jack is in no mood to talk too Mr. Sweet Pea Eunuch.
WILL: (annoyed because he THINKS Jack is not really in a hurry to catch up to Elizabeth, nor really cares to) You said Beckett had the Pirate Brand, don’t you think he’ll hurt and brand Elizabeth?
JACK: My *emphasis* wife is a *big wave * pirate! She knows what to do! Savvy?
Will loses patience, pushes Jack out of the way, while grabbing his compass.
JACK: OI!
Will takes hold of wheel, opens compass and turns ship completely around, crew down on the main deck hold onto anything they can for dear life as Black Pearl nearly rolls on its side, before leaning back the other way. Clever angle shots with CAMERA show Pearl rocking dangerously as waves crash over it and lightning flashes. Cut back onto top deck.
JACK: You bloody, stupid eunuch! What are you doing?
Jack knocks Will over and regains position of wheel.
WILL: You want to know what i think? I think you’re a filthy, stinking liar. Either your compass DOES’NT work, OR you don’t want to find Elizabeth and are *big wave* leading us in the wrong direction!
Storm suddenly calms a bit.
JACK: (after a long, awkward pause) Okay, you got me on one of them …
Cut to brig on Beckett’s ship. Late afternoon - Elizabeth is lying there in the corner, her branded arm lying out on the floor, she is trying to get relax it and keep it cool. CAMERA shows a close up on it. The welt is so big and red, the ‘P’ barely recognisable. Around the burn there are cuts still leaking blood. Elizabeth winces every now and then in pain. Suddenly, footsteps are heard coming down the stairs that lead into the brig. A man stands out side Elizabeth’s door. We can’t see his face. He grabs a key from his pocket, puts it the lock and the door opens with a creak. The man steps inside Elizabeth’s brig, into the light. She gasps – it’s Grant ‘Sea Sponge’ Sparrow!
