He wasnt there that long to deserve to get his jersey retired. He didnt win anything (aside from rookie of the year) with the Raptors and even though he brought the Raptors into the limelight, thats not really a good reason to retire the jersey.
Fans also dont like him because he slacked off while he was there near the end of his tenure. The combination of demanded a trade from an franchise that gave him everything (except Dr. J as his coach) and not playing to his full potential the last season is the reason fans dont like him. And please dont tell me he didnt slack off while he was an Raptor.
I hope he never gets his jersey retired in Toronto. It would be a disgrace for the team.

Dude, no offense but I don't care what those stats say. The pt is all these guys I've mentioned were scrubs, yes I'm sorry but even the mighty Duckworth himself was a scrub too. He was the main reason why the Blazers came up short in the playoffs many times. I actually watched them play so I don't need to look up their stats nor do I want to frankly, they all sucked ass period.

I think the Mavs should've closed it out tonight. The pressures gonna really be on them to win game 6 now and I really don't think you should give the defending champs more chances. I dunno, if they don't win game 6, I think the Spurs may end up taking the series in the end.
What irony if they do end up beating the Spurs and Finley is on the losing team. sad...so sad really. I hope Cuban picks him up in the offseason I want Findog back man. Wow, i couldn't disagree more with this post, making it to the NBA, being a vital, and valuable part of championship caliber teams....just because there not superstar there scrubs?.....i guess mark price, john stocton, jeff hornacek, dikembo matumbo, vinnie johnson, john starks, dan marjlie, spud webb and many many other talented players were all scrubs.......
Anyways, the Spurs/Mavs game was excellent as expected, the two Finley flashbacks in two games, but i'm rooting for the spurs myselves...love Duncan and Ginobli.....i want a Detriot/San Antoine rematch, but to be honest, as a basketball fan you can't go wrong with the teams in this year playoff, your pretty much guranteed to have an exciting Finals no matter who it is...its not even the 3rd round yet and the games amazing to watch

Wow, I couldn't disagree more with what you said. Making it to the NBA is not enuff, you have to perform as well and prove that you deserve to be there. Thank God there's the NBDL now where players who are not good enuff to be in the NBA or have performed badly can go back and re-develop there skills. In the end a better product out on the courts benefits us as fans.
All those players you mentioned were obviously not scrubs, the ones I mentioned were. It's a pretty clear distinction from one group to the other and I think it's pretty obvious to most NBA fans.

are you serious??....making to the NBA where the best basketball players in the world play isn't enough?....than i guess making it to the All-Star game to play with the best basketball players isn't enough either, or winning Awards against the best basketball players isn't enough, because Duckworth did all those things, he proved he belong in the NBA even by your description and you still say he's a scrub

Appearenty it's not a clear distinction, Duckworth has done more with his career than some of those players i mentioned, and put up better numbers as well...you are calling players who performed average to above average in the NBA scrubs

I never thought that bringing up the topic of players who I felt were scrubs, would be such a touchy and sensitive topic for some and would actually go as far as to spark some heated debate, especially since I felt it was being portrayed in a very light hearted, comedic and satiric manner 😕
Anyway, just to some up my point, there's a difference between players who play pivotal roles through their contributions on championship or near championship teams and those who fall short in the end and fail to live up to their potential. I think we have every right to criticize those players as NBA fans.
If we're gonna go by the logic of just making it to the NBA automatically makes you a good, then I want to be the first to start a petition for Shawn Bradley to be recognized and remembered as an All-star caliber player. 🙄
I actually watched these guys play when I was growing up and again all the guys I mentioned were universally regarded as scrubs by most NBA fans, including my friends. We would have fun joking around and making fun of them. Btw, I'd like to also add Charles Smith as another scrubby pick. I use to be a Knick fan at one pt. and that scrub cost us being East Coast champs as well as cost me money!!! 😠
